About this listen

The story, as told by a young, not so smart lackey, who worked for an eccentric supervillain. He has numerous physical problems from the hard to manage super powers that were inflicted upon him. He was torn between the temptation of readily available, evil gotten gain to help his poor family, or doing the right thing. To his surprise, many self-proclaimed superheroes find him through social media. Then the former lackey becomes entangled in web of allies and adversaries, all producing intense mayhem.

I thought this was a really entertaining and fun story, it's like a mix between Deadpool and Kick Ass. The characters feel real and believeable with very real issues. K-Tron himself isn't a square jawed hero nor a moustache twirling villain like an ideal anti hero, someone who can be quite morally questionable but still has ethics and fights for justice and those he cares about. The element of the superheroes not all having powers feels very refreshing and feel like convince no vigilantes with real limits, it has also some interesting moral messages too such as how some do wrong because they think they are doing right and how some do what they do because they feel they have to for a more admirable cause. The book was also very funny and just fun to listen to. The narrator added to this putting real life and heart into the narration and making the characters sound funny to. My only issue is that the narration is rather choppy in some places such as stammering, repeating and freezing a lot which made the story hard to follow. But overall I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone interested.
