Love it! Short stories.

Love it! I recently bought the other books in the collection! They help a lot for learning Japanese through text. It is amazing how well reading helps the improvement of language skills.

Good job.

The book does a good job giving definitions and explanations for everything, including the kanji, it just slows me down a little. I would recommend this book for anyone that's serious about learning the language.

Short and simple.

I am a very beginner Japanese learner and a friend suggested this title to me. It's a great book for a beginner. Short and simple, with proper translation in the end, and every Kanji has matching furigana on top of it. Works great on my kindle.

Many helpful things.

Many helpful things on each page and stories are short and well done, and brief enough to not make it overwhelming.

Overall decent for beginners.

Overall decent for beginners, but if you want a more extensive review of kana or kanji, I would suggest a class or genki. However, it is a decent choice for starting out and getting a handle on basic phrases.

Good info.

This book allows them both to happen at the same time. Once I read over these stories a few times, I started to be able to recognize characters and words and it allowed me to naturally learn! I'm a beginner, but I think it would be great for intermediate level learners as well.

The whole book feels authentic.

the whole book feels authentic to Japanese culture and language learning. I would recommend this storybook to any serious student of the language and connoisseur of the culture. Also, the selected vocabulary including the Kanji is way better than what could be expected from a language textbook like this one. Excellent material!

Very good!

I would recommend that readers have at least a little background in the Japanese language before buying, the sentence-by-sentence structure is actually very good!

This is a great way to learn to read Japanese.

This is a great way to learn to read Japanese in a fun and interesting way. These stories contain a variety of Kanji and of course a lot of Kana. This is part of a series of books that include a variety of interesting stories and characters. Highly recommended for people who know a little Japanese grammar and are interested in learning to read more fluently.
