I can't believe I waited this long to listen to this book. River is my new favorite MC. He's just so positive, and he acts like he's the enrgizer bunny. I love everything about it. And don't get me started on the tentacles... So hot🔥🔥🔥

Fantastic narration, delightful story, wonderful characters. Minimal angst and lots of personality. A standout in its genre and well worth trying out for anyone who is curious.

This was an absolutely hilarious story filled with aliens, tentacles with minds of their own, and a brash, bold nerd with sexy, tentacular fantasies. I usually don't like OTT twinks, but I loved River! He is sweet and huggable, rather than pushy and demanding (at least to me) which made the difference. He is outgoing, selfless, and looks out for others. And he writes a sexy, alien space opera that is the obsession of the alien universe. It's a fun ride when River follows his 'suspicious' neighbor to find actual aliens. The aliens are great, and they LOVE River and his alien story. This is mostly a love story, with a little side story of a drug-dealing (alien) group that is looking to reveal the existence of aliens living on Earth to the humans. This is NOT a serious story, and is fueled by hijinks and laughter. The whole 'magic brownie' episode had me ROFL. There are plenty of twists and turns, especially right at the end, and I am looking forward to the rest of River's story.

The narration is fantastic! Greg channels River's giddy, OTT, talkativeness and Kai's serious mien with equal aplomb, and the juxtaposition adds to the humor. Add in Benji's stoner persona and it's just magic. A++

Greg Boudreaux narrates.

And I have to say, he totally nails it! He nails River, especially when he gets excited, and his mouth runs away with itself!

He nails Kai, and how he starts to feel about River, and what his tentacles are doing.

Oh you know what, he NAILS every single person, human or alien, here and I freaking loved the narration! Had I listened before I read, I would given it 5 stars across the board. So now, I'm-a gonna wait for the second book in audio and NOT read it. Because if Boudreaux narrates again, to this level?? Gonna be amazing!

So, here's the thing. I'm a recent convert to what my sister refers to as "alien porn" (both MM and MF) and this one really hits a whole gammut of spots that I really don't usually like!

I mean, I'm not a fan of romantic comedy books, something about them really doesn't quite work for me but HERE?? I loved River and everything about him! He's so eager and poor Kai was not ready for River in any shape or form. It meant for some very VERY amusing moments between the two of them. I rarely react vebally when reading but I did here, a lot!

Once River sets his heart on Kai, the poor guy didn't stand a chance. But once KAI gets his head on straight and he sees River, really SEES him, Kai also is a bit of a force to be reckoned with.

The book ends on a bit of a cliff hanger. There is MUCH we still need to know about River and who he is and where he comes from and I'm hoping that we'll get more, if not all, in the next book. There is also the small but clearly powerful matter of Kai's brother, Mal and River's Uncle Benji. Evan, River's best friend, also needs a book, maybe even Chewy too!

AND! What I loved best about this book is this: it's the author's FIRST book! So, now I've gotten Ms Archer on my radar, I can watch as she hones her craft and tells all the yummie storie about this group of people!
