Never ever give your authority away to anyone else no matter who or what. Yes, you have to comply at times to where you are whether at work or play, but that doesn't mean being subservient or a sponge to others who are bombastic or domineering.
You don't have to be brash or rude or shout, just know your life and your opinions are yours and that's that. You live in your mind, it's your world, make it a home and worthwhile place. Even if it is difficult speak your mind and be honest.
Your perceptions of life are how life will be, make the best at all times and never entertain political correctness, that's for the morons and deadbeats who are lost and pathetic. Be the person you are and shine...
