Summary

Reprising his film role in this memorable classic James Stewart has a perfect life. A loving wife, Mary (Donna Reed), four young children, and his own business, which he inherited from his father. Facing a financial crisis one Christmas Eve he contemplates suicide.

This being Hollywood he is saved at the last moment by the intervention of his guardian angel who takes him on a tour of how the world would be without him. His friendly Main Street America town is sad, impoverished and bleak.

Convinced by this to return his guardian angel brings him back to the present and he finds the whole town has rallied round to save his business. A rightful American classic.

Whats not to like??

If you buy this, then you have no doubt seen the movie. This is an abbreviated (I think) version of the movie and its great. It should be mandatory to listen to or watch Its a Wonderful Life every Christmas, its that good!

Wonderful

This is a wonderful companion to the film with some of the original cast members. It follows the story and enchants you in the same way the film does. A joy to listen to at any time of the year but especially at Christmas.

A must for all fans of James Stewart.

If you are one of the "millions" who rate It's a Wonderful Life as one of the best movies of all time you must get this Audio version.

if you have never seen the Film version yet you have really been missing out !

I recommend that you get both, movie and audio versions.

The movie is on all levels superb, acting, plot, and cinematography has never been equaled and it truly has stood the test of time.

Get yourself comfortable, preferably with your "significant other" dim the lights and snuggle up to see how Films should be made.

Have some tissue's handy because you will need them, many times, to remove the "grit" that will appear in your eyes ! that is unless you have a heart of stone.

The audio version is a fantastic companion to the movie, great to listen to on its own but even better if you have seen the movie first.

Listening to it never fails to rekindle the feelings I had when I first saw it more than 50 years ago.

James Stewart has the most "Wonderful" voice and is the only person who could have made this part as memorable as it has become.

An added bonus with this audio is the original "Radio Adverts" have been included, which, for me, only add to the listening experience.

I cannot recommend "It's a Wonderful Life" highly enough especially at Christmas time.

Get this as a present for someone or yourself, you will not regret it.

Very good radio play

This is a radio play narrated by James Stewart and Donna Reed both of whom starred in the original movie. I really enjoyed it BUT the only complaint I have (and which is why I gave 4 stars not 5) is that it is abridged (based on the movie) and a lot of content is simply narrated by the Clarence character to move the story along. It is a quick way however to fit in It's a Wonderful Life in under an hour.
