Summary

It started with a kiss. Then it became so much more.

Love at first sight. Avery Connor doesn't believe in it. But what about love at first kiss?

A favor for a friend. Kiss a stranger and walk away. But what if that favor, and that stranger, prove to be the turning point of her life? What if that kiss leads to something more?

Dr. Daniel Stewart is certain it will. He is determined to make her see him. To feel what he feels. To have the effects of that kiss last forever.

Contains mature themes.

This book made my heart smile!

I loved this book as it's such a beautiful love story. I just don't have words that would encompass the spectacular brilliance of this love story.

Some fluffy sweetness from Ms Moreland

If you could sum up It Started with a Kiss in three words, what would they be?

Angst light. Drama light. sweetness overload.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was enjoyable. I'm not a writer, and have only an opinion or expectation of what an author's metier seems to be vs what's in the next book. I have read (ie. listened to!) every one of her books. I loved The Contract. Beneath the Scars was also very well written too.Over the Fence was fun and funny. And, touching. Into the Storm? They all have two things in common. Broken soul meets Broken soul. Each heal one another with loads of sex, dramatics, and interference from others. This one was not her usual ... more like semi-broken spirited soul (she's a bit of a freak) meets a strong ex nerd type and they fall in love. Then, that's all they do. Be in love and boy does that happen freakishly fast too. All in all, I kept waiting for SOMETHING to happen... something big to turn the book's cotton candy framework into something I could sink my teeth into. It never happened. All in all a sweet story. It almost felt like MAYBE, just MAYBE, Ms Moreland trotted out the first book she ever wrote a decade ago and jazzed it up with some relevant 2017 activity like cell phone, texting, etc and threw it out at us to see if a sweet love story might fill a few hours while we waited for her next REAL new book. And, I do not mean to be rude at all. Just expressing how it felt listening.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really thought the "give me three" theme was sweet.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The daddy daughter date ... too sweet.

Any additional comments?

For readers: this is such a sweet book. Don't miss it JUST because there's no angst or dramatics. There is a little, I promise, but it's SO weak and fleeting, and there's so much HEA it's given me a cavity! ;)

A couple who aren't afraid to say I love you

No tragedy, no bad luck or hard luck story trying to make us cry. Just love and acceptance without needing everything to be perfect and pretty. Just perfect for each other! Real love is intense enough.

5 Warm and Fuzzy Stars

5 Warm and fuzzy stars!
It Started With a Kiss and there was no stopping after that. This story is simply sweet and swoony! Exactly what I needed to read right now!

“He’s already named you, Avery. He’s an animal guy. You know what that means. Once they name you, they keep you. You are so done.”

I listened to most of the story on audiobook and loved the narrators! They only added to my enjoyment of this book.
And I loved all of Daniel's 3's! <3

Beautiful and heartwarming.

totally worth it. A simple but very entertaining plot, had me giggling and smiling constantly. It's so addictive I finished it in one play.
loved the way Avery takes over most of the first half of the book and how Daniel does the same on the second half.
the ending, epilogue to be more specific, it's beautiful. not only gives you an insight of how things developed over the years but sets a great example for all the parents out there.

Very cute

Loved it. Sweet, funny parts, not too much drama. Loved that the epilogue went 26 years into the future.

Fantastic love story! Best Epilogue Ever!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Melanie Moreland. The narrators were excellent and really brought the story to life. The story of Avery and Daniel was so sweet and full of such love for each other. A fast paced romance for them works well and it’s a fun journey to read. But that epilogue was the best ever!!! I’ll never forget it.
