Summary

In der Novelle Isabella von Ägypten, erschienen 1812, spielt Achim von Arnim meisterhaft mit unerwarteten Wendungen, grotesken Figuren und einer bizarren Komik. Nicht zuletzt dafür wurde sein Werk von Heinrich Heine als "Inbegriff romantischer Poesie" bezeichnet. Hans Paetsch liest diese tragische Liebesgeschichte einfach nur zauberhaft.
