A beautiful & original story about loss & grief. It’s sad & devastating but Egg brings a bit of humour. I loved both Isaac & Egg & their comical relationship. It has hope as Isaac attempts to find himself again after trauma. A wonderful debut novel narrated excellently by Johnny Flynn. His Egg dialect was brilliant! It has that magical feeling a story gives a child!

This is such a beautifully sad story of loss and where the head and heartache can lead one, while wading through it, Johnny Flynn is the most perfect narrator for this story. His voice and delivery are superb. Brilliantly done Johnny Flynn, thank you.

I loved this book, and it was a delight to hear it read so beautifully. It’s original, quirky, moving, sad, funny and gripping, all at the same time. A story about a 29 year old man and an egg shouldn’t resonate so deeply, but everything about the world the author has created here feels so visceral and close to home, incredibly it all works. Hope to come across a lot more from this author in future!
