But when Dr Bruce Greyson's patients started describing events that he simply could not dismiss, he began to investigate. In After, he shares the scientific revelations of four decades of research into the dying process. He has become increasingly convinced that dying is less an ending than a transition, the threshold between one form of consciousness and another.

Fascinating
A rich in depth look at the nature of death & therefore existence. The duality of the human condition & states of consciousness. Lots of points of reference for further investigation, as well as an interesting exploration of de ja vu.
What I particularly enjoyed is the detail of the brains role in functionality too.
I only wish more of his books were in audiobook format.
For anyone who enjoys the work of Thomas Campbell, Anthony Peake's work is complimentary imo.

This book is a bit academic but non-the-less, it is fascinating in my opinion. The author really does, with the help of superb narration, provide lots of food for thought. I've listened to it three times now because each time, I understand a bit more. It is truly fascinating offering compelling evidence of our continued existence after physical death. Simply excellent!

Genius insight
Excellent book! the content was absolutely mind blowing. It was ruined a but by the narrator that can't pronounce "aware", "awareness" "care", "carefully", "share", "there" and similar words properly and for some reason pronounced them with a hard U rather than an A.
I think that it's just a bit of a speech impediment rather than a regional accent thing as his English is pretty good other than this.
it's strange how one little thing can bug you when you are listening to an audiobook.

Enough to last many lifetimes
A wonderful book, with enough ideas & theory to last... perhaps many lifetimes, or at least repeated listening.
God knows I’m not the sharpest tool in the box but I listened without needing to fully understand some ridiculously complex theories and examples plucked from science, psychiatry and the arts.
Congratulations Anthony your overarching theory appears to pull together much of what so many have tried to fully explain. Thank you

Makes you think....a lot!
It's hard to describe this book as everyone will take away different things from this. However, i found it one of the most fascinating books I've ever heard. It's made me question reality (in a 'good' way) and I love talking to friends about a number of the theories discussed in here.
I think I hit the 'rewind 30 seconds' button a thousand times to ensure I understood what was being said, but even for someone with a regulator intellect (like me), it's fairly clear to understand the overall concepts. But remembering them and sharing them in a straight-forward and clear way, well, I still need to work on that one :-)
Highly recommended and I've downloaded his other three books on here as I'm sure they will offer me equal doses of fascination and thought-provoking concepts. I can honestly say it's a life-changing listen.

THE MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER
This is by far the best book I have ever listened to in my life.
The book is called life after death but really it should be ‘understanding the nature of reality’ I think. I just finished it and I’m starting it again
His audiobook life after death is the most fascinating and beautifully written and read audiobook I have ever read. It explains the nature of the illusion of reality from physics, neurobiology, biological, psychological, spiritual, religious and philosophical view points. Honestly amazing.

One of the best books I’ve ever read...and I read a LOT
I recommend this book to absolutely everyone who has ever questioned the nature of reality, who is dealing with grief, or who has ever wondered about life after death.
I first came across Anthony Peace’s work randomly on YouTube. I watched a clip of a joint interview he did with Physicist Tom Campbell. Anthony, a Doctor, seemed to hold his own alongside the NASA Physicist and so I decided to search him out on Audible. So happy I did.
A few people I recommended this book to stopped reading at the chapter where Anthony discusses theoretical physics/double slit experiment/Shroedinger. That’s the only issue i had with this book in that I wish he had put this chapter a little closer to the middle of the book or at the end. Having already been familiar with said concepts, it actually enhanced my understanding of the other theories presented in the book, but I can understand why others would find that chapter slightly intimidating.
That said, please power through that chapter or skip it and go back to it later. The majority of the book is written in laymen’s terms and easy to follow and understand.
I’ve never read a book that so brilliantly balanced quantum physics with theology, science fiction, science, medicine, spirituality, Gnosticism etc as brilliantly as was done here. His theories on and explanations of Deja vu, dissociative identity disorder, the illusory nature of time ...this book is a masterpiece! Honestly a treasure. I sort of already suspected a lot of what he presented in this book..not so much about living the same life over again but definitely the existence of parallel multiverses, a higher self, and the fact that death is merely an illusion. I’m happy I read this book (i intend to re-read it repeatedly throughout my life..throughout this run anyway,) and if you made it this far, it’s no “coincidence.” You too we’re in a sense meant to. So, read it.

Not about NDE
I was looking for something more along the lines of explaining NDE and this is not it. It is very technical in a physicist kind of way, sometimes it sounds like something Sheldon Cooper would write. Concerning the theories in this book, the parts that I understood I find implausible, and using science to explain a spiritual event seems impossible. My reaction is in no way connected to religion, but that the theories here are just too depressing to accept. If you are curious about how the brain works, possible parallel realities, multiple personalities or de je vous, you might enjoy this.

Hard To Follow
There is some good information in this book, but I found it extremely difficult to follow. It has a lot of in depth science that I had a hard understanding because I am mainly listening in my truck on my way to and from work, so no real time to try and follow more closely. I did find some useful information here and do not regret the read, however I probably wouldn't do it again.

Fantastic Book with Fascinating Ideas
I can't imagine listening to any of Anthony's books without him narrating. He clearly has a passion for this work and it shows as he narrates. Beyond that, the ideas presented in this book, while covered in part by a variety of other works, are thoroughly enlightening. Anthony's research and experience allows him to tie things together in a way few others can. I've read dozens of books in this genre, but Anthony is easily my favorite author thus far.
In order to get the most out of this material, i strongly recommend that you be prepared to question all of your previously held beliefs. If you're ready to look further down the rabbit hole than ever before, this is a great place to start.

Amazing Insights
I was discouraged by the reviews said it was difficult to follow. However I found that if I focus on what is being spoken, I followed it with ease & pleasure.
Various insights obtained from varied sources, both scientific and philosophical make up Peake’s theory of a Higher Self & it’s physical Avatar or Daemon & Edolong respectively. I also feel that my experiences are that I am an “old soul” & have lived a prior life, as my Grandfather who died before “I” was born. I look so much like him that the first photo I ever saw of him I asked my mother when that picture was taken of me. Yeah I enjoyed the book.

The author does an outstanding job at explaining quantum physics which alone makes this book worth reading. I'm still a bit skeptical about how he connects the scientific dots but his reasoning is interesting.
