About this listen

Mars destroyed his ship - but gave him a new one.

Mars drafted his Mage - for the good of humanity!

He should have known that wouldn’t be the end of it….

Captain David Rice has a new ship, a new crew, and a new set of Jump Mages to carry him between the stars. All he wants is to haul cargo, make money and keep his head down.

His past, however, is not so willing to let him go. An old enemy is reaching out from beyond the grave to destroy any chance of peace or life for Captain Rice - and old friends are only making things more complicated!

All he wants is to be a businessman, but as the death toll mounts he must decide what is more important: his quiet life or the peace humanity has enjoyed for centuries.

I love Glyn Stewart’s books having just finished the mage books so was interested in listening to the book about David Rice who gave Damian Montgomery his first job.
The two narrators are driving me mad their voices are distracting me from the importance or the story. Please change the narrators.

So disappointing as the storyline is quite good. The sound recording on the voices just screams cheap and nasty.

I want to know what happens in the story as I'm invested at this stage but I'm struggling.

Narrator is painful to listen to

The performance sounded echoey and the male reader seemed to have a cold throughout the performance.

Story good, performance not so much.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Overall this audiobook is a disappointment, the narration is robotic and sub par.

If you’ve listened to books by Glynn Stewart before, how does this one compare?

Exceedingly poorly
