Summary
Brough to you by Penguin.
The astonishing number 1 global bestseller, featuring symbologist Robert Langdon.
*NOW A MAJOR FILM STARRING TOM HANKS AND FELICITY JONES*
Florence: Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon awakes in a hospital bed with no recollection of where he is or how he got there. Nor can he explain the origin of the macabre object that is found hidden in his belongings.
A threat to his life will propel him and a young doctor, Sienna Brooks, into a breakneck chase across the city. Only Langdon’s knowledge of the hidden passageways and ancient secrets that lie behind its historic facade can save them from the clutches of their unknown pursuers.
With only a few lines from Dante’s Inferno to guide them, they must decipher a sequence of codes buried deep within some of the Renaissance’s most celebrated artworks to find the answers to a puzzle which may, or may not, help them save the world from a terrifying threat…

Typical Dan BrownWhat did you like best about this story?
The whole story, which kept twisting and turning so that each time you thought you knew it all you found you didn't!What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator had a nice deep tone but being American he mispronounced several words which was rather annoying. However it is an American book, written by an American author so I suppose that is only to be expected. (Just wish Americans would all learn how to speak English properly!)Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It's not a moving book but I did get surprised a couple of times.Any additional comments?
If you haven't liked other Dan Brown books don't read ths one. He has a formula he sticks to which I know having read a few other reviews some people don't like, but then if you know you don't like a certain type of book why read them and then act annoyed when you're disappointed? The book is at times a bit repetitive, like all tv programmes these days, reminding us what we've already read, or seen, as though we're all dimwitted and incapable of remembering stuff.
Overall a good read if not great literature (which it doesn't purport to be), and definitely better than the last one.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Sounds the same as the last few books he has released. However, this one pretty much just gives you a tour of Venice and makes you feel like you are in a lecture theatre the whole time. I have to say had to force myself to listen as long as I did but eventually gave in 2/3rds of the way through. What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Didn't get that farIf this book were a film would you go see it?
No. Once you've seen one Dan Brown film you have seen them all. Nothing new to see hereSame old Dan Brown
