About this listen

I, Woz offers listeners a unique glimpse into the offbeat and brilliant but ethical mind that conceived the Macintosh.

After 25 years avoiding the public eye, Steve Wozniak reveals the full story of the Apple computer, from its conception to his views on the iconic cult status it has achieved today. In June 1975 Steve's curiosity and determination inspired him to build a computer, the first Apple. Six months later, he sold the machine, and for the self-professed 'engineer's engineer', success was imminent. But this story is full of life lessons, critical decisions, huge triumphs and big mistakes.

Steve speaks also of his childhood, phone hacking pranks, working at Hewlett-Packard, the life-changing plane crash and teaching.

The recording has a high noise floor that gets quite annoying, the narrator gives a reasonable performance otherwise.

This gives a good insight into Steve Wozniak and his mind. It would have been nice if it had been read by him too, the voice actor I believe did a good job however in channelling his energy.

Hey Steve! Mr Wozniak, Just wanted to say I listened to your book over the weekend, and it was absolutely fantastic! Thanks a lot for sharing all those amazing stories from your early years and how you hustled your way to success. The learning curve must have been huge, huh?

Your passion for technology really shines through the pages. Building Apple Computers and discovering new tech must've been an incredible journey for you.

Oh, and when you mentioned Atari, it brought back some sweet memories! I couldn't resist looking up images of the Atari 65XE, which was my first computer when I was 14.

In a nutshell, your stories are truly remarkable, and I appreciate you sharing them with us! Keep inspiring, Steve! :)

Fantastic Book, lots of memories and true stories from a beautiful era. Oh, I feel nostalgic.

Very Best, Daniel Czarnecki
