Summary

Sent to Boston, Massachusetts, from England for a two year assignment, author, psychologist, and humorist Steve Moysey recounts some of the social and linguistic blunders of his first year as an expatriate. Having to come to terms with a whole new lexicon of terms and social norms, Moysey describes in hilarious details the perils of a trip to the doctors, having to deal with a new set of sign language, or simply just navigating through everyday life in New England. It’s a wicked pissah listen!

American English and British English are different

At first I’d like to thank Dr Steven Moysey, writer of this book and the excellent narrator Jason Flintham.
This relatively short book is so enjoyable, because it tried to underline the differences between America English and British English. Through the experience of Dr Moysey, a British who left to go to US, we can learn how to go about eventually.
It’s advisable to have it in our library.

Hilarious

I have just listened to this while wearing iPods while out walking the dog and it certainly kept my attention, but if you are keen to preserve your dignity it is best to listen to indoors or where people can understand why you are throwing your head back laughing or snorting and the occasional stagger. It’s a lovely, refreshing light hearted account of events Steven Moysey blundered through due to cultural differences when he emigrated from Britain to America. It didn’t take long to get me rocking with laughter.
