It also brought back memories of when I lost my uncle, who was very close to me. He was only 35, and his sudden death left me in deep grief. I still remember how heavy our home felt afterward, and how I would try to find corners to console myself. At that time, I wanted to comfort his children, who were just 8 and 9 years old, but I didn’t know how. This book explained beautifully how everything takes time to heal, including grief and pain. I especially appreciated the chapter that guided on how to console children teaching them the reality while also giving them hope, so they can slowly begin to heal and move forward.
Another chapter I found very interesting was about how different cultures handle grief. Some celebrate it as a way to say goodbye happily, which is a beautiful perspective. Still, I believe the loved ones always carry the pain of not being able to see the departed again.
Overall, this book was amazing, offering both comfort and knowledge in a very relatable way.
