Summary

Mary Fern's bedtime series of audiobooks have helped countless children to find restful, gentle sleep and provided frazzled parents with a much-needed break. Her new series is designed to help children stop sucking their thumbs.

These bedtime stories are best listened to on Audible. Each of the audiobooks helps to encourage children to find the power from within them to help them break the habit.

Simple poems reinforce the message that this is something they can do, and with a little help from their imaginary friends, it will be an easy and even fun journey.

Mary Fern’s Book

There are lots of books on her shelves, they are aimed at young children and we have enjoyed Tired Bunny and Bedtime Bear’s playtime antics so this was another one to add to the list. We didn’t have a particular issue with thumb sucking to overcome but my daughter likes this narrator for her bedtime listen.

Good narration

The narrator is an easy listen with a gentle American accent who brings to life the characters in the book.

The thumb monster books

There are a few of these and I downloaded on them on my son’s kindle fire so he has control over which one he would like to listen to. If you buy one then the chances are Amazon will offer you the others on a special deal which is when I got them.

Ideal for younger children

The tone and the type of story is really aimed for younger children, and as I know to my cost it’s a lot easier to get younger kids to stop this habit rather than leave it and try and deal with it when they have started school. By then the habit is entrenched and it makes it really hard for them to break, especially when they have so much else to deal with in their young lives.
