Story
Everyone’s heard of Nostradamus. No one’s heard of Philibert Montmorency. One was a legend. The other, not so much.... A newly discovered Nostradamus prophecy has taken the internet by storm thanks to "The Oblivion Doctrine", a group of online conspiracy theorists. Apparently the end is nigh. And in case anyone’s interested, nigh is definitely a Tuesday. Doctor Ally Oldfield, professor of Medieval Languages, is summoned to Lyon for a second opinion. She’s not happy about it. Jenny doesn’t know what they’ll do when they find out she’s a wicked witch. She can’t help being a wicked witch. It’s in her blood. She’s supposed to eat children, blast people with witchfire, and plot dark deeds with her foul-mouthed imp familiar, Jizzimus. Instead, she’s rescued a girl, Kay, from a band of people traffickers. To keep her safe they have signed up for a college course in an English country mansion. Jizzimus is not impressed. The mansion is not the safe haven they thought it would be.

A weekly newspaper dedicated to the weird and the wonderful (but mostly the weird), The Stranger Times is the go-to publication for the unexplained and inexplicable. At least that's their pitch. The reality is rather less auspicious. Their editor is a drunken, foul-tempered and foul-mouthed husk of a man who thinks little of the publication he edits. His staff are a ragtag group of misfits. And as for the assistant editor...well, that job is a revolving door - and it has just revolved to reveal Hannah Willis, who's got problems of her own.

Story
All Nick wants to do is take his dying father for a perfect father-son weekend in the Scottish Highlands. It’s not much to ask, is it? A log cabin, a roaring fire, a bottle of fine whiskey, and two days to paper over the cracks in their relationship. However, Nick didn’t plan on making the trip with a dead neighbour in the back of his car. Or the neighbour’s dog. He really didn’t plan on being pursued by a psychotic female assassin intent on collecting body parts.

The Limpet Syndrome (book one)
John’s dead...but that’s just the beginning.
Hell has a problem. Two, actually. The souls of Sandy Logan and Ian Noble are missing. This, as it happens, is a big deal. Brimstone, the demon responsible for the Soul Catcher, believes the most likely outcome is the end of the Universe.
It’s obviously only a guess: It’s never happened before.
Soul Catchers (book two)
No one can live forever.
John’s gone, and even he doesn’t truly know where. Demons, pigeons, gods, and a band of ex-dictators in plastic bodies are all eager to find him. Will they get to him before he can enact his revenge?
Dead Ends (book three)
Is there a happy ever afterlife?
War is coming! Against gods, between species, and against the afterlife itself. Heroes will emerge from unlikely places, and John will yet again be forced to intervene in the future of mankind.
Existential Crisis (companion book)
A face-off between science and religion. Demon Top Trumps. A 14-billion-year timeline and the truth about pigeons. The definitive guide to the afterlife and a must listen for fans of the trilogy. Only available in this box set and to Limpet Club members.

magnificent trilogy of morals, pigeons and death
Loved this trilogy of books and the narration from Aubrey Parsons was magnificent (as usual) So many characters which I loved and the storyline running through kept me hooked until the end. The morals, pigeons and death were very memorable and I look forward to listening to more of Tony's books in the future.

Fantastically Funny And A Lot For The Money
This is a brilliant series and an absolute steal as a set of three for one credit. Tony Moyle's style of writing will make you laugh out loud and leave you wanting more. There are so many unique characters that on their own would make good stories, but combined make you wonder what the author has been smoking. Aubrey Parsons narration adds personality to the characters and really brings them to life. Books you can listen to again and again, and hear something new each time.

An absolute joy. Cleverly constructed and brilliantly delivered. Fast-paced and entertaining, throughout. The plot is the most believably, fantastically absurd, fun-filled frolic. Funny always and, at times, laugh-out-loud. Perfectly narrated with versatility and an obvious knowledge of the books.

Terrible story, terrible narration.
The story is tedious, with no original ideas, just badly rehashed old ones. The protagonist is unlikeable, as are most of the other characters. The narrator seems to be of the "the more silly voices the better" school of readers.

Disappointment
After reading the other reviews I was really looking forward to these stories. I persisted and got through the first book and started on second before giving up. I didn't find it funny, only slightly depressing. Neither did I like most of the characters so found it hard to care what happened to them.

most bizarre book I've ever listened to
This book was mental in the best possible way. If you liked The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy or if you are a Terry Pratchett fan then this is for you. This is not the kind of story I'm normally drawn to but this was soooooo querky I totally enjoyed it. The voice acting was all over the place but I think that might even have been intentional. Agent 15 sounds like they hired Billy Connolly to impersonate Sean Connery doing James Bond 😂😂😂 and half of the other characters sound like a very drunk and very old Jack Sparrow. This box set was hilarious. I would absolutely recommend it.

Long Imaginative Weird Adventures
Three books as one makes for a very long audible listen. Especially as traversing different hellish, earthly, and heavenly universes gets very descriptive and imaginative throughout. You really get your imagination twisted, expanded, at at times stretched with this trilogy.
There’s an audio error in book 2 Soul Catchers Chapter 17. The dialogue of the Mr Noir character is missing from a conversation 18:05-07:56 - 19:49-06:12.
Spoilers may follow.
The bit where Grace explains what grace is had me tearing up.
The giving birth scene when Nash becomes a bunny, was unbelievably crazy weird.
The thing about describing hellscapes is it’s often difficult for readers to envision what the author has in his mind.
When Grace the neutral explains her love near the end I absolutely burst into tears of emotion, such simple yet profound words of explaining what love is.
The way each chapter cuts off at random cliffhangers and then starts up again in someone else’s storyline, is confusing. Even when it goes back to the other storyline eventually at random.
Very preachy at the end with Jon’s speech.
Overall a wild and weird book with characters of many species on Earth. My favourite characters were Sandy and Ian in book 1, and Scrumpy in books 2 and 3.

Hard to follow the story
First the good. Aubrey Parsons was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Giving different accents helped separate the characters, and his accents were great, Scottish, Welsh, English, Geordie... all great. Then there was Sean Connery, grandad from Only fools and horses... Add that to some of the characters in the book, especially Sandy and Ian, who had me literally in tears of laughter, and you had what should have been the perfect audible listen.
Now the bad. Maybe it was me, but I couldn't follow what was happening half of the time. Even putting aside my distaste for religion and accepting the book is just fiction, all the stuff about the soul catcher just left me confused.
However, that said, it was free, and worth listening to just for the Sandy and Ian parts and the performance of Aubrey Parsons. I am now going to look up anything else he may have read, he really was that good.

A bit all over the place
Listening to this was hard work. The narration was a major feat of acting, with so many voices used. At times I felt the voices were more important than what was being said and I was listening to a celebrity impersonator.
Too many characters and a little hard to follow and keep up with, both in the writing and the reading of this messy story. One continuous book of about half the length would have been better than three sort of books that were intrinsically linked but trying to be, and not to be, the same story. I ended up listening to some of it a few times and a little of it - not at all, particularly near the end.
Overall: Too long, too meandering, a bit confusing, all with overacted narration.
