Summary

Ever try to impersonate an extrovert to fit in?

Can’t over come social settings because you’re easily over shadowed? Looking for the competitive edge that will make the playing field even so you can standout without changing who you are?

All around us we hear the achievement and success from two thirds the population. The other one third are the unheard voices. The ones who listen instead of speaking. The ones whose innovations go unheard of. The one who favor working on their own. They are the introverts with a voice not heard. Just because the quiet has enveloped you into the shadows doesn't mean you can't outshine the extroverts of the world. Even if your voice isn't heard, the value you bring will do the talking.

It’s no secret loud, outgoing, personable people have a leg up on the quiet. Some people are energized by others. And while there’s no right or wrong personality, there is a certain imbalance that puts introverts at a disadvantage in many situations. What that means is you need to find alternative means that allow you to fit in as an introvert. Learn the queues that allow you to take advantage of an opportunity and thrive in an extrovert world.

This book is not about reinventing yourself but providing the skill sets to even the playing field. I'm talking about how to leverage your voice in social settings. Know exactly what to say and connect when you want too. Leverage charisma on demand. Dominate your competitors as an entrepreneur or in a sales setting.

Furthermore, you'll discover:

  • How to single handily create small talk and chatter without being awkward.
  • How to outsell the extroverts even when your quiet and shy.
  • A survival guide for social situations to help you get known and be remembered.
  • How to build a network and make friends without changing who you are.
  • The one simple phrase that influence and persuades when nervous.

If you’re tired of being dealt losing hands for being yourself, then this book is for you. My goal is to teach you strategies that only internally focused people can use. Strategies that will put you ahead of even your most extroverted counterparts.

If that’s what you need don’t waste another second. Get this audiobook now and take charge of your life!

There are better reads out there on this topic

Firstly the extensive legal disclaimer at the start was unusual and set off alarm bells that this was not for me. Secondly the narrator was not suitable for this topic and indicated the producer of the audio version clearly did not understand that people interested in learning about introversion probably prefer more calming softer tones. Thirdly the first chapter seemed to list the problems with introverts and how to fix them. I tried to persevere with the book but I found it very condescending and off point. I would say there are better books out there covering this subject that don't see an introvert as something lesser than an extrovert.

Nice Insight on Introverts and Extroverts

The book puts words to thoughts surrounding the polar opposites of Introvert and Extrovert personalities I've often thought about. The book is written in a familiar tone, making it easy to follow along and the narrator does a nice job carrying that ease of format into her performance.

The practical advice on various topics,

The practical advice on various topics, such as interactions with others, dealing with children of different personality types, and coping strategies, was useful. I had also previously listened to Quiet, and while some of the information presented was similar, the authors approach the topic in two different ways; thus, I wasn't bored and I didn't feel like I had already listened to the same book. I listened to this on audio, and the narration was well done.

Explained very well

This book was an excellent resource to learn about the introvert and extrovert personality types. It is well researched, easy to follow and provides tools on how to work with your personality type and deal more effectively with those of the opposite type. I felt like I learned a lot about people in general, and it also helped to explain some of my personality traits and reactions to others.

I truly believe this book should be required

I truly believe this book should be required listening to both introverts and extroverts. More than that, I wish it could be downloaded directly in the minds of many people for maximum effectiveness. Many signals and assumptions that introverts take for granted in an extroverted world are spelled out, analyzed, and made accessible for immediate understanding and integration. For extroverts, the assumptions of the world they've made are challenged, and new perspectives are offered. The result is genius cleverly disguised as good old common sense. The playing field has been leveled quite effectively, and now the introvert has a fighting chance to proceed in everyday situations according to natural inclination without being subjected to the challenges of misunderstanding, ridicule, or low self-esteem. This book is a bridge. All that remains is for it to be utilized.

I just started listening to the book again. So much information and I've learned so much about myself that I need to listen so that I can explore the reason for my low energy after a long day of meetings and technical support calls.

incredible explanation of introverts

This book made me reflect on who I was and why which helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses I experienced while growing up. Knowing now that what I felt was similar to so many other introverts, gives me more hope for my future.

A very well written guide

A very well written guide on improving social skills. The approach is firm yet not unkind. In fact, the author is very considerate in their way of hiding the reader to better understand the ways they can improve their social wellbeing.

The author provided excellent points

The author provided excellent points about the fact that not all introverts are shy, but then sometimes contradicted herself with guidance about how to overcome shyness as a general strategy. But it was helpful more times than not.

I really appreciated the writers perspective.

This is not a quick fix but rather a slow process of change and this book is a beginning step to improving your social skills. It is setting realistic goals taking baby steps and reevaluating the situation and deciding what went right or wrong and how to change that. I really appreciated the writers perspective.
