About this listen

It has been almost two years since she defeated the vengeful spirit of her mother, but Vanja Ros - no longer Schmidt - has finally made a name for herself. She is a God Daughter, a (reformed) thief, and now a folk hero. She stands up for those with nothing, bringing justice and prosperity where she can.

But members of the royal families are turning up dead, found with Vanja's calling card on the bodies. And as old flames, adversaries, and allies resurface, Vanja must face what it took to become the Pfennigist once and for all.

It will take everything she is to save not only herself and the people she loves, but time as we know it.

Perfect ending! So sad it's over. I really hope we get another book/a novella as I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. As always the narrator did a fantastic job.

Easy to follow, sort of entertaining kind of story for the first half, and I liked the who dunno aspect. Not quite so keen on the constant repetition, especially being told that MC regards herself as a thief every other minute. The whole story seems constructed around how everybody is obsessed with the MC and that went way over the top towards the end and made me lose interest. To be fair, all the German names mixed with the American narration irked me from the start, so I might have completed the book if it weren’t for that. Also, when the narrator pronounces it «pissént» did they mean pissant or peasant?

Hmm….
