Loved the book. I’ve listened to Fokofpolisiekar from their beginning days and relived many of the shows and my own younger years through Francois’ retelling of the stories. The book filled me with so much hope and positivity hearing how happy and positive Francois is now and just beautiful hearing him talk about Lauren and their children. I’ll listen to this again!

There's something profoundly moving about hearing Francois Van Coke narrate his own story in "Hoe ek dit onthou."

What makes this audiobook gripping is Francois’ unflinching honesty about his lowest moments. Hearing him recount his battles with addiction, the near-collapse of Fokofpolisiekar, and the personal demons that nearly consumed him is both heartbreaking and electrifying.

But what truly makes this audio experience unforgettable is the joy in Francois’ voice when he recounts his triumphs. You can practically hear him smiling as he describes the first time Fokofpolisiekar played to a packed crowd, or the moment he realized his music was reaching people's hearts. His enthusiasm is infectious when he discusses collaborations with other South African artists and the evolution of the Afrikaans rock scene.

The pacing is perfect for audio consumption. Franscois knows how to build tension and release it, much like he does in his music.

"Hoe ek dit onthou" is more than just a rock star memoir—it's a masterclass in resilience, creativity, and the power of second chances.

A raw and riveting journey through Rock ‘n’ Roll’s shadows and spotlights.

Dit was dik kwaai my Bra. Dis amazing dat jy jouself so kon re-invent. Houtpielle!
