Summary
The air fryer is a deep fryer/oven hybrid that cooks food without the need of oil by circulating hot air. A heater that is situated immediately above the cooking chamber emits heat energy into the food at a close distance. This energy is circulated by a sizable fan just above the heater, which makes sure the energy is forced down and onto the food.
The air fryer is distinct from an oven, despite the fact that it may sound similar. There is an empty base underneath the food chamber that holds an air guide shaped like a starfish. The air spreads out and disperses the heat energy uniformly around the base of the meal as it passes through the food and into this open chamber.
The heat is subsequently sent back up and over the meal by the continuously operating fan. By doing this, it makes sure that air is always passing through and around the food, evenly heating and cooking it. The heat transfer rate is far greater than in a traditional oven due to the combination of heat from the top heater, heat passing through the bottom, and heat being drawn back up again.
