Story
Since we last heard from him, Guy Martin has restored a 1983 Williams F1 car then raced Jenson Button in it; helped to build a WWI tank; ridden with Putin's favourite biker gang the Night Wolves; competed on the classic endurance circuit; stood on top of one of Chernobyl's nuclear reactors and taken part in his last ever Isle of Man TT. Then there's the stuff he really can't wait to get out of bed for: 12-hour shifts for a local haulage firm and taytie farming in his new John Deere tractor. Besides all this, he's saved his local pub from closure and become a dad.

Treacherous roads, unpredictable weather and turbulent politics challenged their stamina. Two-time championship-winning and record-breaking racing driver Jason Plato is a living, breathing example of what you shouldn't do if you want to become a professional racing driver. Since joining the Williams Touring Car team in 1997 it's no coincidence that he has had more race wins than Lewis Hamilton and Stirling Moss, competed in more races than Jenson Button and set the largest number of fastest laps ever. But it's also no coincidence that he once spent several days in prison in Monaco for stealing a JCB.

Summary
The Phenomenal Sunday Times Number-One Best Seller.
"It was the start of the third lap of the 2010 Senior TT, the last race of the fortnight. The last chance to get a TT win for another year, and I was pushing hard. Ballagarey. The kind of corner that makes me continue road racing. A proper man’s corner. You go through the right-hander at something like 170 miles per hour, leant right over, eyes fixed as far down the road as I can see. But this time something happened. This time the front end tucked...."
Guy Martin, international road-racing legend, maverick star of the Isle of Man TT, truck mechanic, and TV presenter lives on the edge, addicted to speed, thoroughly exhilarated by danger.
In this book we’ll get inside his head as he stares death in the face and risks his life in search of the next high.
We’ll discover what it feels like to survive a 170 mile per hour fireball at the TT in 2010 and come back to do it all again. He’ll sweep us up in a gritty sort of glory as he slogs it out for a place on the podium, but we’ll also see him struggle with the flipside of fame. We’ll meet his friends and foes, his family, his teammates and bosses, and we’ll discover what motivates him and where his strengths and weaknesses lie.
For the first time, here is the full story in Guy’s own words, from the boy who learned to prep bikes with his dad to the spirited team mechanic paying his way by collecting beer glasses in pubs to the young racer at the start of his first race and the buzz he’s been chasing ever since.
This thrilling autobiography is an intense and dramatic ride.

great book! Why not Guy Martin Narration?
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Just wish Guy Martin had narrated it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Guy Martin: My Autobiography?
His childhood is very interesting to me
What didn’t you like about Dean Williamson’s performance?
The way he said certain words like riders names and MPH would not be how Guy would say them and pull me out of the story.
Could you see Guy Martin: My Autobiography being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
No

It’s got all the thrills and spills I would want & expect from a book on Guy Martin’s life.
What does Dean Williamson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I would have preferred Guy to have narrated the book but Dean does a fair job
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This is a very unique book about a very unique guy....called.....Guy. I was laughing out loud at loads of places in this book. Very honest, very direct in the way he describes people and situations, but that is refreshing. He does seem more at home with machines than people, but he definitely appreciates genuine no bull people.
Loved speed and closer to the edge, and wanted to find out more. Was not disappointed!!
The way he describes a lap around a street circuit in such a detailed way of the mechanics of a bike and how what he is thinking as it reacts to the speed and road, despite never having rode a motorbike I felt I got a little of how it must be.
Top notch insight into all he has done and why he does it. He does things PROPER.
I've never stopped what I'm doing and made so many bookmark notes before. Like ' He had a champagne mouth, but lemonade pockets', and many others that I can't mention here.

Motorcycle racing and alot more
I just enjoyed this book because Guy Martin is an above average rider that didnt get all caught up in the rockstar attitude and sponsership driven interviews that we always see. He says it like it is, doesnt want fame and is a delight to listen to. By speaking like an average joe, the fans love watching him do anything. He has gotten famous because he doesnt crave it. Sort of ironic.
