Summary

Zoo vet Blane Winters' grumpy attitude and muscles hide a romantic heart. He only relaxes when he's around animals, since he likes them more than people. He has some friends, a good job, and a place of his own, and he's sure that's all he needs. Until he meets a certain incessantly cheerful artist.

Studying meerkats as he paints a wedding present for his sister gives Falcon Harper the perfect excuse to creep on the hot vet. It takes his mind off the dreaded event. He’s happy for his sister, but his secret ex will be at the wedding...Spencer, who broke his heart years ago.

The solution is obvious: Blane can be Falcon's plus-one and show Spencer that Falcon’s moved on to bigger, better things all these years later. But feelings grow as Falcon coaxes Blane out of his shell. Just as happiness seems within their grasp, jealousy threatens to tear it away for good.

Grasp is a stand-alone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger.

Charming & Romantic, A+ for Boudreaux

E. Davies' Significant Brothers series continues with Grasp. My heart went out to Blane from the opening scene. Looking for a long term, serious boyfriend through Grindr hookups must be seriously frustrating, and he's such a sweetie, he deserves a bf who can give him what he wants. Falcon is a little bit of a goof, but his heart is in the right place and Blane's steadying influence makes them a great match. Yes, it's insta-love, but these guys are so ripe for it, it's a case of right guy, right time so it works for this couple. E. Davies includes some charming scenes at the zoo, which I was looking forward to from the moment I found out one of the significant brothers was a vet at the local zoo. There are also some scenes involving Falcon's skeevie ex which adds a nice bit of drama to the tale. Beautifully performed by Greg Boudreaux, his warm, sultry voice is perfect for this cast. I also enjoyed Mr. Boudreaux's southern belle accent for Blane's boss. I can hardly wait to find out which one of the significant brothers' tale is next!

amazing!

this was amazing! I finished it in a day, I couldn't stop listening. It was such a sweet book and it warmed my heart. I loved the characters. The dialogue was fantastic! So beautifully written. And the plot and the pacing were also really good. I can't wait to listen more books in the series, all the characters are so interesting

I miss the Significant Brothers

How can you not love a book that starts out with a scene that includes a baby sloth??? Falcon and Blaine have a chance encounter at the zoo where Blaine is a vet and Falcon decides to paint the meerkats for his sister's wedding. I really enjoyed listening to these two become friends and then fall for each other. It was so much fun to revisit the Significant Brothers and I can not wait for the others to be released on Audio.

So good!

Blane and Falcon’s book. The second in the Significant Brothers series. So good! Listened to it in one sitting. Between the fantastic words written by E. Davies and the narration by Greg Boudreaux, I happily listened to it. I highly recommend it. It can be read/ listened to alone, but you will hear about characters from the first book.

I really liked it :)

This was funny and entertaining, and I really, really liked both, Falcon and Blane. I enjoyed seeing how they cautiously go from friends to fake boyfriends and, finally! to real boyfriends. Sometimes schmuck exes have their utility :P A really delightful romance with just the right amount of angst thrown in to shake things a bit. Greg Boudreaux's narration is very good.

Cute, worth the listen!

I received this audiobook as an ARC for review. This is not my first book by E. Davies, in fact I have read/listened to many of E. Davies’ books. I really enjoyed book one in this series as an audiobook and was excited to hear more from the Significant Brothers Series. Falcon is so freakin’ lovable and cute with his personality. He’s an adult, but in that awkward is out, but not out arena. Blane just wants love like his friends from book one, Nico and Deen. They had to work up to their “love”, but instantly connected on a physical level. They also shared a little bit of snarky banter and I was all there for that. They also have so much fun together, being silly and cute together. They worked so well together. They do have their baggage that forces them to be slow and steady, but they work it out in outstanding fashion. Mainly, Falcon’s ex-boyfriend, Spencer. It takes them a moment to get their communication on the same level, but when they do, they work together perfectly. Greg Boudreaux is an awesome narrator. He’s easy to listen to and get into the groove of the story. I do listen to my audiobooks at 1.2x speed or higher, it doesn’t lose anything in the story, I just have always listened to my audiobooks at a higher speed.

delightful

Would I listen to it again: yes Did the story keep me engaged: yes Was I invested in the characters: yes Story comment: nice pace, engaging characters and an easy, entertaining story. I like that both Blane and Falcon are independent, intelligent men who can still show vulnerabilities, and that Falcon (as an artist) hasn't been painted as 'flaky', as is so often done. Narrator comment: Greg Boudreaux's masterful performance works perfectly and brings the story and it's characters to life. His rhythm, changes in pitch, intonation's and the cadence of his voice all work perfectly to provide me with a completely immersible audio experience. I look forward to meeting Roman and Oscar in Book 3.

Good story

Zoo vet Blane runs into artist Falcon and both are interested in each other. Blane is such a romantic but I thought that could have been made more obvious with how he was romantic. I listened to this book and at times I had trouble telling the difference in dialogue between the MC’s.

Such Sweetness

I loved Falcon and Blane. They are so perfect and adorable together. Although they have issues with the talking part about f relationships they seem to have a lot of fun (and pizza). I like how they meet and think that the connection is amazing. And omg I love their friends and family. They are all so much fun and keep these two on their toes. With a few hurdles and the decision of whether to make it real or not they have their work cut out for them. I thought that the narrator did an amazing job with this story and the characters in it.

Wanted Romantic at Heart

"It's hard to be patient but you'll bloom too" Falcon. What's not to love about a story that delivers lines like that to a reader who doesn't even realize that they need to hear it? But if you've ever read any of E. Davies' books you come to expect these sometimes hidden gems mixed in with all the other beautifully cultivated words he uses to weave his tales of love and hope. To hear these words brought to life by Greg Boudreaux is a treat and then some. I admit to being a huge admirer of his narration skills because he excels in delivering sweet and heat with a skill that will wow you. Blane is a heart weary vet, tired of the hookup scene but not totally comfortable with what he knows in his heart that he wants for himself. Falcon is an artist who hasn't come out but is now faced with seeing a secret ex at the wedding of his sister. Bringing Blane along as his +1 starts out as a motion of convenience but quickly becomes more. Fear though and past woes weigh down both of these hopeful men. They want, they long, they dare to believe but they keep all of those so close to their hearts for fear that to voice them would drive off the other or be more than the other is willing to give. But once those floodgates open miracles can happen. Believe in love patiently and you'll bloom too :)
