About this listen

Debauched pop star Howie Howden has led a charmed life – there has been nothing a fat cheque, a non-disclosure agreement or a course of penicillin hasn’t made go away. But a calamitous night on the town, with his troubled yet dutiful manager Eddy Katz, has consequences for both men.

Does Howie's reputation as a 'ladies' man' conceal a darker truth? Will the tabloids continue to celebrate his out of control libido or is his luck finally running out? And what price will Eddy pay for his own ill-judged foray into the sleazy underbelly of the VIP lounge?

Glitterballs is a deadly serious funny book about sexual predation in the music business.

This is an extraordinary book. It tackles a difficult subject in a way that most authors would never dare to attempt. You will laugh (a lot), cry a bit and fall in love with several of the characters, definitely not all of them, though. A 10 out of 10 book for me. Quite brilliant.

Devastatingly funny. Devastatingly sad.

I loved this hilarious riot of a story, I lost count of the times I spat my coffee out laughing cheered me up so much I’m going back to the beginning to listen again. Definitely one to revisit over and over thank you

I have not read such an entertaining book for long time. The characters are unforgetable, believable and hilarious. It's pure comic genius as well as being poignant and moving. I love this book!

What a fantastic twisted journey. The writing bounces off the page from the start. It tickles, horrifies and hugs you and sometimes does all three at once.

It’s a a story that draws you in with the absurdities of celebrity but touches you with the realities of everyday people and events.

The narration was superb. All the characters felt distinct and real and Stephen’s voice is enchantingly inviting.

10/10

Effortlessly funny and heartfelt
