Summary

Winning customers is the lifeblood of any business, yet so many people fail dismally at it. James Sinclair knows how it’s done. In 15 years, he has built a one-man business as a children’s clown into a multi-million-pound enterprise with a network of companies and over 400 employees.

In this audiobook, he lets eager business owners into his secrets for getting the right customers fast and to make their businesses grow. Finding, getting, and keeping customers is the most significant and important skill set of a successful start-up entrepreneur. And it’s equally vital to the established business, too.

Customers are the life blood of any business. That’s so obvious it’s hardly worth stating, yet so many businesspeople are useless at actually getting them. Looking at the more established businesses - if that’s you - in my experience, the longer a business trundles along, the lazier it becomes at getting more customers.

They spend too much time proudly telling everyone about their past successes and reminding everyone that they have been around since the year dot rather than actually working at getting more customers or keeping them. Worse than that, when it comes to getting their existing customers to do more with them, they fumble around like toddlers learning to walk. This is plain sad because existing customers are the low-hanging fruit...the easy pickings.

When it comes to marketing to existing customers, you can run before you can walk, because there are quick wins just waiting for you. This group of customers is the stream of gold that most businesses don’t tap into. If you’re a start-up, getting customers should trump all other tasks. After all, no customers means no business!

If you want to find out what marketing actually works, what marketing actually gets customers, then this is the book for you. In this audiobook, getting customers will come first.

Great little book, does away with the filler and delivers massive value in every chapter, if you are new to business this will be a game changer, if you are a bit of an old hat like me this gives some good reminders of the basics which we can easily forget and gives some other creative suggestions which you may not have thought about.
The pace and tonality of this book was much more pleasing than the one that proceeded it. Well done. Look forward to the next.

Does what it says on the tin!

Some really good nuggets of advice

A no-fluff, no-excuses guide to actually getting customers. James cuts straight to what works: grabbing attention, building trust, and making offers people can’t ignore. It’s practical, blunt, and immediately usable — the kind of advice you finish listening to and act on. If you’re a regular listener of his podcast, you’ll love the extra “golden nuggets” he drops in here — the kind of insights he usually explains just in more detail. Great listen
