I’m straight. So, when a gay guy on the train asked me out on a date, why the hell did I say yes? And why am I excited about seeing him again? Okay, let’s start again.... I thought I was straight for all of my 26 years. I dated women. I slept with women. And yeah, occasionally I’d wondered what it would be like to experiment with a guy. We’ve all done it, right? A couple of times, at least? Only, I never did more than wonder.

That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Summary
Christopher Allan Roberts thought he had a promising future: captain of the football team with the promise of a scholarship to play for Alabama, his high school sweetheart and best friend for as long as he could remember, Amanda, by his side, and the love and support of his family. One night, one mistake changed everything. Chris moves to New York, adrift and alone. A walk one night brings him to the flashing lights, loud music and thrumming bodies at Club Berlin. A flyer in the men's room promises fame and fortune for anyone willing to go on camera and have sex, with another man. Money is money, and how hard could it be, right? Christopher Allan Roberts becomes Kris Alen, All Cocks' newest addition, a gay for pay porn star.
Lincoln Carter is honest with everyone in his life, including his family, about who he is and about his sexual preferences. Linc Larson, the openly bisexual gay porn star, will do anything with anyone, which pretty much writes his ticket in a versatility-charged industry. It's not his sexuality that interferes with his personal life; it's his inability to trust. What Linc wants right now, more than anything, is the chance to do a scene with All Cocks' newest acquisition, Kris Alen. Six-foot-two with auburn hair, an exquisitely toned and inked up body, Kris Alen is sex personified. Linc doesn't know if it's the "I want the shiny new toy" aspect that calls to him, or the distant and wounded expression that haunts Kris's eyes.
Linc figures out early on that Kris is only working the gay for pay angle that All Cocks brings to his bank account. Can a bisexual man with trust issues break down the barriers that Kris has built around himself and help Christopher overcome the painful past he is running from?

A sweet story
The blurb made me curious and therefore I was already very excited about this series.
Chris had a promising future ahead of him until a fatal mistake changes everything. The dream of his career is gone and his private life no longer exists. Therefore, he moved to New York to friends, where by chance a flyer for sex on camera jumps out at him. Why not, Chris has nothing left to lose and now performs under his stage name Kris Alen. Nothing speaks against Gay for Pay.
At Al Cocks he meets Linc, who also has his problems. The two get along well. Is Chris perhaps not as straight as he thought? Because he finds Linc quite attractive. But can Linc trust Chris?
I liked "Gay for Pay" very much. The story is told from alternating perspectives and in flashbacks the listener learns about the mistake Chris made and how things went after the accident. I found both Chris and Linc likeable. They are both interesting characters and the story was told with a lot of empathy. I just would have liked a little more depth and a little more development of Kris and Linc's relationship, it went a little fast.
The audiobook was narrated by Tony Clark. A narrator who is new to me. He was basically not bad, but not oustanding either. He gave everyone their own voice and also tried to get the emotions across, which he didn't always manage to do one hundred percent. Still, the audiobook was quite nice to listen to.
The story entertained me wonderfully and I'm already looking forward to the next volume.

New to me, author and narrator
I was fortunate to receive both audiobooks 1 and 2 of this series for an honest review.
At first, I found it hard to get into the book, but then I settled down and enjoyed it.
A gay for pay, first gay relationship and gay for you. I like the characters and felt the story was a good start to the series.
The narrator, also new to me, was a little hard going, not the most fluid reader that I have listened to. He also read quite quickly, which is good for me, but I can see if some people don't agree.

Flawed ex-footballer finds love unexpectedly!
One bad decision by Chris led the death of his girlfriend and he has been paying the price ever since. Desperate for money and despite being straight, Chris joins m/m online adult production company, All Cocks, and surprisingly, he finds redemption and love. The premise of this story was great: flawed ex-footballer joins an accepting group of adult entertainers and experiences a bisexual awakening. Because the story focuses so heavily on Chris coming to terms with his guilt and time with the production company, there isn’t as much focus on the blossoming relationship so it didn’t feel as real as it could. The audio narrator is particularly clunky in his delivery, not doing the text any favours. This shouldn’t put you off a great series.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening

A sweet start to a sexy series
I enjoyed this look into the world of Porn Site's and their day to day workings.
All Cock's is a gay porn site that employs lots of different models for filming.
This first story gives a glimpse into the characters that own and run All Cock's (great name).
It introduces Kris , who's life has been turned upside down after a tragedy. Just when he
was at rock bottom he sees a flyer about All Cock's looking for models to work in the industry.
Could this be his chance at getting control of his life , and getting off his friend's couch?
Why not? It pays well enough.
But there is just one tiny problem, Kris is straight.
Can he be gay for pay? Or is there something that he is hiding?
All l can say about the narration is that l'm glad they changed it for the rest of the series .

interesting read
This novel was different from my normal reading material but still enjoyable. The narrator voice for one of the main Characters Lynx threw me a little. I also enjoyed the story of forgiveness of himself that Chis had to do. The story brought a different light to the porn industry and the relationship that can form between actors.

Story letdown by poor narration
Gay for Pay was a great story unfortunately letdown by poor narration. The narrator reads as if he is reading a book not acting out a scene, the pacing was much too fast, with minimal inflection, which unfortunately distracted me so much that if I had not been invested in the characters of the story I would have given up listening.

Quick, entertaining story
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the story for the most part. My main complaint is the story jumps from 2010 to 2015 with very little information given about the time in between. For example, it mentions a trial, but I don’t remember it mentioning whether or not Chris went to jail. I wish I’d gotten a little more information and background. I felt like that would have given me a better grasp of the character.
Other than that, I liked the setup, the supporting characters, that there’s definitely a plot, and not all porn (which was great) and I definitely wouldn’t mind continuing the series.
For the narration, I’ll admit I did have some trouble following along, mostly because I kept getting pulled out of the story by Tony Clark’s pacing, tone, tempo, character voices. It’s not that Clark does a bad job, I’ve heard worse believe me, but I didn’t connect with him as the narrator.
Bottom line: A quick, entertaining story with heat, but definitely check out the sample of the narrator before buying the audio.

Great story good narration
Kris kills his girlfriend by driving drunk in his last year of high school. He loses all his friends, family, the scholarship, everything. He’s devastated and broke. While living on friends’ couches in New York he finds Gay For Pay and decides to go for it – he’s got nothing to lose.
Linc is happy with his life as a bi-sexual porn star – but leery of relationships since his last boyfriend cheated on him with one of his co-stars.
They don’t hook up right away, but instead become friends. As that friendship grows so do their feelings. Even in this industry, they manage to keep sex out of their relationship for a very long time. When Kris finally admits to his feelings, Linc is already right there with him.
The question now is – where do they go from here?
**
This was such a surprising book! It was not at all what I was expecting. Having read a few “gay for pay porn” books, I was expecting Kris and Linc to be hooked up from the start and for them to fall for one another that way. Instead… Gabe is the wonderfully sweet guy who introduces Kris to his gay porn career and he ends up really being a great friend.
I loved the seemingly honest look at gay for pay that we get here. Kris struggles to stay hard at times, he still wants to date women, he likes Gabe because he’s so feminine in nature… but he truly likes Linc as a person and that’s what initially attracts him.
I think this is one of the few books out there that put forth a compelling “demi-sexual” story in that I do believe Kris is NOT gay. He loves Linc for Linc and not guys in general. Sure, you can call him bi-sexual in that he eventually comes to enjoy both gay and het sex but in terms of romance I think he’s a demi-sexual.
The sequels are already published – YAY! – and show an interesting “pre-quel” to the throuple that is Kris’ boss and his partners – which makes me psyched because I had wanted to know more about them as they were introduced. The third book is the slutty Kory who steals Linc’s beau but it looks like he gets redemption.
I’m excited to read the next two books and highly recommend this.
4.5 of 5 stars (there were some editing and grammatical mistakes that take it from a 5 star, but minor.)
Audio
Tony Clark is a new narrator for me and he does a nice job of giving each person a unique voice and he attempts both the southern accent of Kris and the Eastern European accent of Victory bravely! There are times when he’s a bit flat in terms of emotion but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of this as an audiobook.
Again, highly recommended.

Porn with Plentiful Plot!
Where does Gay for Pay rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Gay for Pay is the best audiobook that I've listened to so far. I was looking for a quick wank, but was surprised to find a charming story with lovable characters.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Gay for Pay?
I loved all of the comedic dialogues between the guys.
Have you listened to any of Tony Clark’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first Tony Clark performance I've listed to, and I found it to be fluid and evoking a sultry leather-filled lounge.
Any additional comments?
Buy it. Listen to it. Love it!!

This was a sweet and sexy romance!
This was a sweet story that takes us through the semantics behind filming a porn film and two porn actors who find love behind the screen.
Chris and Linc were engaging characters and I liked the chemistry between them.
This was an entertaining and enjoyable read.
I quite liked Tony Clark's audio delivery. The narration was smooth, fluid and clear.

Gay for pay
Any additional comments?
I really liked this audiobook.I listen to this all in one sitting and wish it were longer because I really loved getting to know these characters. This is a story about love, loss, regret, loneliness, letting go and second chances at new love. Very good story and narration.

The book was better
I have to admit that it took me a couple of chapters to remember the story, but my mind doesn't remember the book being quite this painful.
The story is probably a 3½ star rating, but the narration almost made this my first dnf audiobook. The basic story telling was fine, even normal most of the time. But the characters were awful, and the conversations were stilted and unnatural sounding. The vocal inflections made me cringe; and I wanted to pull my earbuds out during any sex scenes.
I don't usually give such a negative review, but I have listened to literally hundreds of audiobooks, and there have been some real doozies. But this one really detracted from the story, and did a disservice to a decent first book in a series.
My advice: read the book.
I am going to listen to the next two books because I have already bought them as they were on matchmaker, and they are narrated by the incredible Mr. Joel Leslie.
I am sorry, Tony Clark, but you just really did not do it for me with this one.

Sorry, just not very good
This is a gay romance about a straight guy who decides to do a gay for pay job. You'd expect really hot sex, some self discovery, maybe some insight into the gay porn industry.
This book offers none of these things. Sex is really dull and unimaginative, lame story line and clearly not accurate in portraying the industry.
Narration lacked any kind of passion, although I have to admit he had little to work with.
I wish Audible would qualify/screen some of these stories better. There are so many standout authors such as ZA Maxfield and others.
Sorry, hate giving terrible reviews, just don't want people to waste money.

Hot men...what more is there to say?
Having the main character already friends with a gay male, it makes the transition for him more believable. Although he did seem to go from just modelling to getting it on with gusto quite quickly, it didn't seem wrong or forced. The storyline was dealt with in a way that was an easy listen and drew you in with the descriptive writing. Having Tony Clark's nice voice to listen to didn't hurt either.

4 Hot n Charming Stars
This book is the now in my top 5 favorite MM books. I loved the narrator!!!! < is that enough !! maybe I should add more.
Ok Ok seriously, Kris hasn't had an easy time with love. Because of tragedy, he shuts himself down emotional so he can’t/won’t lose someone else he loves.
He has the chance to take a job as porn star but in the gay side of it. He will make more money and just because he is straight, he isn't the only one who is in the industry.
Jordan another straight actor takes Kris under his wing to show him the ropes so to speak. In the meantime Kris is getting to be pretty friendly with the rest of the crew and actors. It’s like one big family.
He starts to notice Lincoln, and although Kris isn’t gay he starts to get a little jealous.
Watching Chris understands his own emotions and not everything is black and white. It’s special and makes you feel for the guy.
Opening up to someone isn’t easy not after his loss but watching this man struggle with genuine emotion and love of another human being; it tugs at your heart strings.
I great story of finding not only yourself, but accepting of one’s self too. Great love story.
P.S. There is Gay Love in this book... That’s your warning ;) Enjoy I know I did!

The book and audio are NOT the same
"This book was previously published as the All Cocks Stories series. It has been edited and reworked with new content and a new series title. The core of the story remains, and my guys always find their happy ever after!"
I listened to the book not realizing that the book has since been expanded. I saw the above note under the book description on the amazon site. It is a shame that this story was not rerecorded as the audiobook is 21 chapters and the newly published e-book is 35 so much is missing. What is recorded is a decent story between two emotionally broken men who find love in the adult entertainment industry. The narrator is a bit flat at emotionally charged times but does an okay job all round.
