It's very easy to decide that you are not a math person if you are a kid and are learning it the wrong way. It's also very easy to teach math the wrong way to a kid. This very helpful audiobook shows you the other side of math, how you can learn without frustration and without thinking you have to put yourself through pain. Highly recommended.

This book does a great job of turning maths practice into something engaging and approachable. I liked how varied the content is, with a good balance of puzzles, brain games, word problems, and practice questions that keep things from feeling repetitive. It works well for different ability levels, whether a child needs extra support or is looking for more of a challenge, and the real-world examples help the maths make sense.
What really stood out to me was the positive, stress-free tone. The activities are broken down in a clear, encouraging way that helps build confidence as skills improve. The interactive elements and challenges add an extra layer of motivation, making it easy for kids to stay interested and track their progress. It’s a very flexible resource that works well for home learning, tutoring, or extra practice and makes maths feel far less intimidating.

I really enjoyed the narrator—Rebekah Thompson’s voice is calm, clear, and genuinely pleasant to listen to. For a subject like math that can cause anxiety, her approachable tone makes a big difference. The content and approaches feel manageable and confidence-building rather than overwhelming. A great choice for kids (and parents) who want stress-free math practice.

So, I got this hoping for something that wouldn’t feel like a dry worksheet in audio form, and it genuinely surprised me. The pacing is friendly, the instructions are clear, and the variety (practice questions, puzzles, and word problems) keeps it from turning into a slog. It builds confidence as you go and doesn’t make you feel behind if you need a second to think. I also liked that it’s easy to pause, try the problem, and jump back in without losing the thread. If you’re a parent, tutor, or a kid who wants extra practice without the groan-factor, this is a solid listen.

How fun!
