Summary

Ridmark Arban is the Gray Knight, questing to stop the return of the terrible Frostborn to the High King’s realm. For years he has sought the secret of the Frostborn, and now the answer is at hand within the walls of the cursed citadel of Urd Morlemoch.

For the Warden of Urd Morlemoch knows the secret.

Calliande seeks for her past; her memory lost in fog. She seeks to stop the return of the Frostborn, but the secret of their defeat is trapped within her damaged memory. The truth of her past awaits within the walls of Urd Morlemoch.

For the Warden of Urd Morlemoch knows who she really is.

The Warden has been imprisoned within Urd Morlemoch for centuries beyond count, his potent magic chained behind its walls. But his final game is almost complete. And worlds beyond count shall tremble before his power....

Repotition of angst boring

Much too much repetition of angst by characters-getting worse with series, shame as it is boring.

DREADFUL NARRATOR

why change mid series. Mara are commoners but suddenly talk like toffs as do all the women which does not suit the genre. He lacks characterisation and his general narration is unpleasant. He has a voice more suited to reading the shipping forecast on BBC World Service. What keeps me hooked on a series are the characters, getting to know them and following their encounters. This is hard when they c hange mid series. I couldn't give 0 stars for performance so I've been generous with 1.
Good story ruined by poor choice of narrators.

why change the narrator?!

Steven Crossley was by far the best narrator for these novels. for some reason since book 6, they used Brad Wills who is terrible!! narrates the names wrong including characters and places, just really put me off from the series which is really disappointing because the storyline is amazing!!! very disappointed would of given this a 5 star if only they stuck with Steven crossley

Awful narrator

Why do producers think it is a good idea to change narrator half way through a series? The narrator of this book ruins it with a a misunderstanding of when inflection and emphasis is required. The tone is bland and grating, the character voices irritating and the modulation infuriating. What has been an otherwise good series and story line has been ruined and I would recommend anyone picking this book when listening as part of the series, to consider purchasing a copy to read not listen. Your enjoyment of this book will be marred by this narrator........and he is the narrator for Book 7 which fills me with dread.
