the narrator did a good job of distinguishing between voices, but the standard voice and cadence for Charlie was distracting to me. the "plot" definitely needed suspension of disbelief, as normal people don't go from hate to love with no real reason for it. I.e. what happened didn't warrant such a drastic turn around. the timeline didn't match up, I.e. when planting flowers mentioned the day before but I'm pretty sure a couple of days had passed based upon events in book. anyway it was not offensive to listen too, a bit frustrating in parts, partly because of the characters lack of communication and assumptions, partly because it wasn't realistic in any way, but it got where it needed to. if you're into cheesy innocent romance and aren't distracted by what felt like incorrect cadence and emphasis by narrator at times, then you'll probably enjoy it. it just didn't ring true for me and more than once I internally commented " oh come ON, really?" so I guess it was engaging
