About this listen

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

"Touching and powerful...Reid masterfully grabs hold of the heartstrings and doesn't let go. A stunning first novel." Publishers Weekly

Elsie Porter is an average twentysomething and yet what happens to her is anything but ordinary. On a rainy New Year's Day, she heads out to pick up a pizza for one. She isn't expecting to see anyone else in the shop, much less the adorable and charming Ben Ross. Their chemistry is instant and electric. Ben cannot even wait twenty-four hours before asking to see her again. Within weeks, the two are head over heels in love. By May, they've eloped.

Only nine days later, Ben is out riding his bike when he is hit by a truck and killed on impact. Elsie hears the sirens outside her apartment, but by the time she gets downstairs, he has already been whisked off to the emergency room. At the hospital, she must face Susan, the mother-in-law she has never met-and who doesn't even know Elsie exists.

Interweaving Elsie and Ben's charmed romance with Elsie and Susan's healing process, Forever, Interrupted will remind you that there's more than one way to find a happy ending.

Sadly one of my least favourite TJR books which sucks because I normally love all of her books it just didn’t grab me

Good but not amazing

I really wanted to love this book given the others I’ve read but I didn’t, the story felt a bit soulless to me.

I found the peripheral relationships more interesting.

It was difficult to finish it then the last 20 minutes were my favourite so all in all mixed. Maybe it wasn’t my cup of tea.

I wanted to love it but it fell flat

So powerful. A fascinating exploration of grief. I especially love the focus upon Elsie's developing relationship with Susan.

Wonderful book

I expected to love this as I loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I just really didn’t gel with the main characters, especially the couple.
An easy read for the most part but not a fulfilling one.

The narrator is amazing bringing it to life in a way only she can. I’d recommend these books to anyone of any years. They truly are inspirational and really lovely escapism from the real world even though there about the real world when you live with such pain and disability and damage to your body and mind these are amazing to allow you to come away from your own selfish existence into somebody else’s world somebody else’s story, help me to go back to sleep when I wait in the middle of the night due to Pain I have to reread them and Eon there is absolutely nothing to dislike. They are well written well thought out well narrated and just a wonderful of life as we know it.

The spectacular story writing is felt throughout.
