Story
If Nick James is right, the Tipperary solar system is about to become the busiest trading hub in the galaxy. To sweeten the pot, the cloud-city of Lèger Nuage is offering free warehouse space to qualified traders. Of course, nothing's as simple as it seems. Just like Earth's Old West, the Tipperary system is as full of promise as it is Buccaneers who are happy to prey on the weak. No one expects it to be easy, but deceit, piracy, and murder kindle the pioneering spirit in each of them.

Utterly Brilliant

Summary
Celina Dontal just escaped 18 months of captivity at the hands of Alexander Boyarov and his crew, members of the brutal Red Houzi Clan. That should have been the hard part. It was only the beginning.
When she tried to contact her younger sister, Jenny, Celina received shocking news. The one person in the universe that Celina loved and lived for was missing, and no one could tell her what happened. A vague mention of passage booked to the metropolis of Puskar Stellar on Mars was the only clue Celina unearthed, but Jenny hasn't responded to any of Celina's messages.
Celina has no friends on Mars and to make things worse, Boyarov is skating on thin ice with the Red Houzi. He lost their ship and prisoner. Retrieving both as quickly as possible is the only hope he has of preserving his own life. He's on the hunt.
If there is to be any help for Celina and Jenny, it will have to come from strangers. Puskar Stellar is a big city and finding someone who is trustworthy can be a slippery quest.
Fool Me Once, a standalone novella, is the second story in Jamie McFarlane's Privateer Tales.

Good, but too short
Liked the diversion from the main theme, which recounted what happened to a prisoner, Celine, who was liberated from the pirates by Liam an Nick, but this was far too short.
Loved the narration, which was easy to listen to.

What would you do If set free from slavery.
A Intresting tale of of Celina struggling to survive and rebuild her family after Liam set her free from a life of slavery.

Another amazing installment in an enthralling adventure series! Laurel Schroeder gave a stellar performance that really enhanced my experience. This is Horrible, (Book 1 was Good)
In contrast to book one, this was characterized by cardboard characters speaking lines from a 1950s TV show, a heroine too stupid to live, a plot moved along by one miraculous coincidence after another, all of which was narrated by a voice that sounded inappropriate 60% of the time. A very sad development. The first book, Rookie Privateer, was very good.

Much like the first in the series
Lena from the first book is the main character in this story. Much like the first book the bad guys are really bad and the good guys always win.
That being said I can sense the world building is coming to an end and the story will become more interesting. I’m in for one more. If it more of the same I’ll be done. This is to predictable.

Seems like a bait and switch
This picks up where Book 1 ended but is from the point of view of the slave girl who was freed by the heros. If I didn't know subsequent books in the series gets back on track with the Loose Nuts team I would have considered this a bait and switch and never bother with another book from the author.
Also I think the author missed an opportunity to write a full novel. The first half should have been her capture and life as a slave and then the events of Book 1 from her point of view (which wouldn't have been much). Someone in Book 1 (I think Liam) wondered how she could have become so hard and this would have been a perfect opportunity to explain that.
As it is, it is an ok story albeit a bit predictable. The bad guys are overly bad. Celina is a saint for not killing them.
I do wonder how Celina lucked out to find Kathryne. If I was an escaped slave looking for my sister, I would never have that kind of luck. Without finding Kathryne nothing else would have fallen into place and she either would have never found her sister or would have ended up back as a slave or more likely both her and her sister killed.
And also maybe I fell asleep or something, but what happened to the drunk guy who gave Celina his number? Either the author never heard of Chekhov's gun or doesn't believe in that concept. Of course this is the same author who in Book 1 gave us two hours of excruciating detail of cleaning the spaceship's sewer system.
Finally the narrator did an excellent job bringing this story to life. In fact I think if I had read the book instead of listening to it, I wouldn't have finished it. She didn't have a lot to work with but she did wonders with it.
