Un misterioso búcaro que siempre tendrá flores frescas sobre el sepulcro del proxeneta, le estimula a emprender una investigación en la que afloran vivencias de la vida del protagonista Luis Fernández Figueroa, y su relación amistosa con el mítico proxeneta.Yarini fue un chulo, pero estudió en prestigiosas instituciones de nivel superior en Cuba y en Los Estados Unidos, era de modales refinados, y provenía de una familia de clase media alta a la vez de ser violento y profano por vocación. Tenía aptitud para la política, un fuerte sentimiento patriótico, y un sentido de justicia social que le ganó el respeto y afecto de las diversas capas sociales en la Habana de su época. Ayudaba a los pobres del barrio de San Isidro con dinero de su propio bolsillo y mantenía a varias negras viejas retiradas de la prostitució.
