This book highlights the systemic misogyny within our political, education, media and police establishments. Filled with facts and statistics about femicide, the pandemic of school sexual assaults and police failings. However, it’s is not all grim. This book highlights where changes can be made and where the power is. Best book I’ve read in years.

This book should be required reading for everyone in the UK.
We have a huge problem in our society, one that is just being swept under an enormous carpet, but people like Laura Bates are brave enough to name the problem, and shame the people who allow it to continue.
This book points to exactly where the problem is and what we, as a society, can do about it. Highly recommended.

So much of this we already know as it forms part of our everyday lives, but it is not until books like this reopen your eyes to the appalling and systemic attitude society has towards females.

It would be great if we could fix the system, but personally I do not think that is possible,it has all been ingrained in our society as normal for too long.

Laura highlights throughout the book, that we see these disgraceful norms from birth and we blithely accept them.

Laura’s words are just shocking at the way society perceives women. Equally hard hitting is the way we as women also compound the problem.

We can sit up and take notice of this book and many others like it
However over centuries we have accepted we live in a male dominated world and all these problems are not problems but have become second nature.

I can highly recommend the following books which compliment this book.
