Summary

I'm that guy. Camilla Landry rustles against me, the silky fabric of her overpriced lingerie slipping along my bruised rib. The porcelain perfection of her skin is even more innocent against the colorful ink dotting my own. It's demure meets damaged, pampered meets punctured.

So, yeah, it's obvious I'm that guy. Dominic Hughes. Her attempt at rebellion. Her bid to see what the other side of the tracks feel like. I'm okay with being used because, from where I'm sitting, the other side of the tracks have never looked so good.

ANOTHER AMAZING LANDRY ROMANCE

Now you'd think I'd know better after listening to all the other wonderful books in this addictive series.. but oh no no no.. I go and start this book.. yes START this book at bedtime - naively intending to listen to just a few chapters - huh.. well at 2 a.m I was still riveted. Rooting for a mismatched couple who were complete opposites. Mild-mannered heiress Camilla Landry with time on her hands for charity work and the handsome alpha Dominic Hughes - a dirt poor troubled tatooed boxer/air con engineer who fights so he can keep the roof over his head. He has a 'history' with the Landry brothers and wants nothing to do with them.. or from them. Their relationship is surely doomed?

Dom and Cam have already been in a 'no strings' secret relationship for ten months with absolutely no talk of getting serious because this stubborn alpha had a very different upbringing from Cam's - it was a bitter childhood which ended in bloodshed and tears. Dom's convinced there'll be no HEA for Cam and him because he's got nothing to offer her and refuses to pull her into his world - so he emotionally tries to keeps his distance. However, Cam doesn't see his failings.. only his strengths, his struggles and his loyalties (coupled with their amazing sexual chemistry of course). She tries really hard to mask her true feelings for Dom and continues a relationship devoid of HEA's while around her are happy Landry's who've found their soulmates, are married or engaged and who are already parents or happily pregnant. These are things Cam wants with Dom - but he's blinded by his circumstances and their life differences.

This is their dual POV journey.. one that will have challenges, pitfalls, emotional drama and cloudy skies.. but it'll also have passion, possessive behaviour, sexcapades, touching times and two separate loving families who clash with yet support a hero and heroine who are destined to be together.. but who are destined to make it difficult first. As we all know, the narration can make or break a book.. it can be a torture or a pleasure.. and thankfully this book was a pleasure because it was expertly narrated by Kai and Wen - a great team whose style of narration and talents made each chapter flow smoothly.. seriously good guys.

Worth a credit? Abso-freaking-lutely. I didn't think I was going to like it as the relationship was already established, a done deal with no build-up.. but very quickly Adriana Locke locked me in to the emotional turmoil, the conflict, the passion, the negatives and the positives that these two likeable characters battled to keep under their control. And another plus was that all of the other Landry clan were here too.. from the older alpha brothers who were looking out for their baby sis.. to the loving parents (as well as the 'significant others') who lend an ear, a shoulder to cry on or share wise words of wisdom at just the right time.

Dom is the Bomb!

Move over Landry men and make room for a new sexy, southern, alpha male! I absolutely loved this West Side Story meets Romeo & Juliet, forbidden romance. When Dominic Hughes comes to Camilla Landry's house to fix her air conditioning, Cam is drawn to this sexy man from the wrong side of the tracks. They take a chance and begin to see each other. Dom believes that there is an expiration date on their affair, because what could a good girl like Cam want with a bad boy who could never give her the life she deserves. Dom works 3 jobs as a repairman, bartender, and fighter, just to make ends meet, while Cam shops, and plans charity events for the elite of the community. But Cam isn't the pampered princess he thinks she is. She is smart, strong, loyal, loving and determined to take care of him. She grows to see the softer, kind and loyal side of this fighter. It hurts her when he won't integrate her into his life or mix with hers. But as their hearts become more involved and Doms desire to protect and make Cam happy grows, he finally agrees to meet one of her brothers. Now the fun really begins! The Landry brothers are so over protective, wanting what's best for Cam, on their terms of course. But Cam has to show them that she is capable of making good decisions on her own. Dom and Cam are complete opposites who challenge each other and make each other stronger and whole. They are so perfect together and their chemistry is off the charts. The Landry family is again essential in this story. I loved catching up on all the family but mostly seeing how they fight for each other to make sure they are safe and happy. The scenes with Ford, Lincoln, and Graham are priceless! This multifaceted story is the best of this already epic family saga! It is heart pounding, thrilling, moving, funny, and super hot and steamy.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott have such a smooth and easy rapport with their duet narration. They make each scene and the banter even more fun and engaging.

If you haven't tried this series yet, you must! You will love it, I promise!

Scrumptiously Delicious Southern Charm

Camila (Swink) Landry & Dominic Hughes are two Souls from different sides of the tracks. A perfectly crafted novel with a fabulous writing style. I love Dominic's character and the way he articulated himself. Camila is an absolute sweet person and I love her character. I absolutely love Camila & Dominic's story. Everything about this novel is started as created the sweet dough, rolling out the sweet dough, baked, and iced & scrumptiously delicious you will devour it. Told in Duo POV Narration. I absolutely love listening to this with Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott as narrators. They have a distinct set of voices that you can differentiate between the character's. Wen does an excellent job with his southern drawn voices. I love Kai's sweet southern charm voice. I absolutely love that we get glimpses of the other Landry Family members in this audiobook. Although, I'm very sad to see this fabulous series end, I am so looking forward to listening to Crank (Gibson Boys Series Book One) which is a new series however, it is Sienna Landry's story. This author is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.

Swink: Another Locke Hit

I love everything about the Landry series. All the characters are so well written. The dynamic between the siblings, the parents, the major male and female roles. It all intertwines so well. What really ties it all together in a big red bow are the voices of Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. I love an interactive narrative.
This story between Cam and Dom - the good girl and the bad boy is so precious. I have only one negative remark. Camilla's character is so naive about why Dom didn't want her at his fighting match. I realize that there are actually some people who are raised very sheltered. However, Cam's character was a strong woman and she just didn't seem to be that clueless about most everything else in life. So it surprised me that she would act that way.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series Sweet.

I need more!

I am so sad this series is done! I have loved every minute of it. I must admit, this was my least favorite Landry book, but I still really enjoyed it! I love that we still got to see glimpses into the lives of the other characters!

Wen and Kai kill this book!! AWESOME

OK... It's finally Cam and Dom time!!! I'll tell you that he was so not what I was expecting. He was even better. Seriously this book so exceeded my expectations on every single level. I loved this book.

Dom is so much different than any Landry, which he is fine with, but what bothers him is that he appears to not be good enough for Cam. This isn't anything she has done, but a societal issue, but some of this reasons have valor. All he wants from her is her ability to care about him for who he is. All she wants is the same. There is such a discord in this for a majority of the book, but while the issues come out more emotions reveal themselves as well. This is when you truly get to know what Dom is all about, which makes you fall more in love with him.

Having four majorly overprotective brothers doesn't help the situation at all. They are being 100 perfect Landry's, which is great for us as readers but very hard for Cam; however, the greatest part of this is the more the boys show their dysfunctional attitudes, the more you see just how much faith Dom has in Cam's ability to fight and stand up for herself. It's a breath of fresh air.

I'm so unbelievably lucky to be able to review this ARC voluntarily, which was given to me by the author. One thing that I've always looked forward to is another Landry book to read. This series may be done, but there is more to come in secrets, surprises and a new series starring a favorite Locke character!!! I'm so excited for what AL has in store for us. Five stars is truly not enough. I will be re-reading this book again soon. Now just have to wait for the audio book to come out!!!!

My Two Pennies

I love how Kai can go between multiple so many characters throughout the story so smoothly and Wen, well I’m just hooked on that deep voice that holds your attention. As for the story itself 4.5 Sweet stars, I am so happy that Cam “Swink” has her very own story. This family is by far my favorite yet and although I’m still hooked on Lincoln Cam and Don are at the top of my list as well. She may be the youngest of the siblings but she knows who and what she wants and will not let anyone change her mind. Dom is a hard working man holding not one but two jobs and boxing on the side while Swink being a Landry lives a slightly different lifestyle but this man has a heart of gold and the way he treats Cam is the way every man should. Wonderful story with a beautiful ending. I can’t believe we’re five books into this family and I still want to hear more. Usually after a couple the storyline tends to dip a bit but not with this series. I’ve read them in order but I feel like you’d be able to jump around and not be lost in the slightest. Grab your copy and get to know this family. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Swanky

All this time, I thought Camilla's nickname was Swank. I'm not sure what Swink means, but I sure enjoyed her story. The main conflict is between Camilla's swanky life and Dom's working class and sometimes seedy one.

Locke's strength is her characters. She simply makes you fall in love with them. The whole Landry family makes you want to be a part of it. I enjoyed seeing the continuation of Graham's and Mallory's relationship, too. It's nice to revisit all the siblings' stories. I can't believe there's only one more left. I wouldn't mind seeing a book dedicated to Troy (hint, hint).

As always, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross's narration is top notch. I've always loved their work, but I think it's getting even better with time. There is nothing that compares with duet narration. It's so nice to hear men be men and women be women.

I received this audiobook for free and chose to review it.

make sure you do the sample of the narration, could not stand it. The story was a good one but it would be a much better to read it then to listen to these two.

Adriana does it again.

Would you consider the audio edition of Swink to be better than the print version?

In this case I prefer the audio version. Kai's sweet southern charm flows freely and Wen's brooding DEEP voice is like honey.

Have you listened to any of Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kai and Wen are always spectacular and this performance does not disappoint. They have such a range of different voices it is not difficult to differentiate between characters, and the way they play off of each other is nothing short of amazing.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Adriana's description of the big fight was quite detailed and heartfelt. I was able to see through Camilla's eyes and feel her heart breaking. A very well-done scene.

Any additional comments?

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
