    "What a gem"
If you could sum up Ken: Hawaiian Holiday in three words, what would they be?

The three words I would use would be, Quirky, entertaining, and very enjoyable.

What other book might you compare Ken: Hawaiian Holiday to, and why?

Well to be honest this is not normal genre is reading. But didn't mean I didn't enjoy it, because believe me I did.

Have you listened to any of Chris Abell’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I've not listened to Chris Abel before. But he was brilliant to listening of his characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did sit and listen to Ken's and Jolie's story in one sitting. Didn't want to stop really fantastic.

    Any additional comments?

Like I have said not my normal genre in books, but am I glad I did. Beautiful characters with very well written story. Would read this author again, without a doubt.

    Story
"Sweet, Quirky and Hot in One!"

Personally I cannot help but want a Ken in my life. It is true he doesn't quite have his life together. He had a head injury that has left him physically vulnerable. He doesn't have a career in place. But none of that overpowers the incredibly hot, sweet and slightly quirky person he is. The story opens with Jolie, a women who likes everything planned to the infinitesimal detail, being stood up at the alter thanks to interferences of her best friends. It was the right thing to happen but it leaves her going on her honeymoon with one of her bestfriends who has plans of her own for Jolie. Only Ken isn't playing by anyone else's rules. He really likes Jolie and embarks on a honeymoon adventure to remember.

But nothing is quite as neat as all that. Honeymoons end and Jolie and Ken both have their insecurities to work through if they really want a chance to make a relationship work.

This is an all-out, throw out your plans, complete with a male escort service, romantic romp the reader cannot help but enjoy!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

    "Honeymoon without a groom"
Would you listen to Ken: Hawaiian Holiday again? Why?

While it is a cute story I don't think I would listen to it again. It's a fun one time story but it didn't have enough to draw me back in and make me want to really listen over and over again.

What does Chris Abell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was a good narrator who brought good distinction between his characters, even the different male and female ones in the books. While I wasn't a big fan of this book itself I did like this narrator's work.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it was a funny story but I had a hard time getting that drawn into it and invested in the characters. It was cute and fun for a beach listen or something to escape to but I didn't find myself really wanting to listen until the story was over. I enjoyed the story but I turned it off several times and never was dying to turn it back on like I do other books.

    Story
    "A honeymoon without the marriage???"

Jolie has her quirks... she is very organized and needs to follow her lists to completion, she has more allergies than I could ever imagine a single person having, and she's been left at the alter.

Ken has secretly been hired to fill in for the missing groom on the honeymoon, but there's a complication. Ken has feelings for Jolie, and has since they were in elementary school. How can he go through with the job.

I really enjoyed listening to Jolie and Ken's story. Chris Abel, deliver another wonderful performance.

    "Romance with more"

While this is book 2 in the series it could be listened to as a standalone book.

While this is a story of romance it's also more. It's got some fairly deep themes included, especially around self acceptance but is also light and an easy read/listen. It's sweet, sexy and funny.

I like the characters, both Ken and Jolie have interesting points and it's clear that a fair bit of thought went into creating their back stories.

The narration is great, the character voices are really good and it had a nice natural flow to it.

    "Ken: Hawaiian Holiday"
Would you listen to Ken: Hawaiian Holiday again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to it again. It is always enjoyable to listen to it a second time and find that you might have missed something. It's also a very good story that held my attention.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that the story is a romance but with a touch of humor and emotional moments too.

What does Chris Abell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brought the book to life. His voice is easy to listen to and never gets boring. It was pretty easy to distinguish who was talking (male or female). :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were several moments that made me laugh and a few that were heartwarming too. I really like how Ken helps to take care of his sister and the scene when the best man ran into her was a little humorous and touching the way it was handled.

    Any additional comments?

Rachelle Ayala always seems to come up with a sweet, emotional romance with a touch of heat and humor that holds your interest. Each book is a little different and never seems like it drags out. I also find that secondary characters are just as important as the main characters to the story.I enjoyed all the Bad Boy series.

"A Honeymoon with out the Groom was Great!"

This was such a fun book. I adored that he was the pumpkin that turned into her prince! A great guy that you just can't help but to fall in love with. It was really touching to see the relationship with his sister too.

Don't want to give anymore of it away but this is touching and fun with a nice dash of heat!

Worth a credit: YES - and a great beach read / listen!

    Story
    "A Great Vacation Read!"

When Jolie's fiancee is caught cheating right before her wedding, her besties do the only thing self-respecting bridesmaids would do... they hogtie him, lock him in a room, and try to hire a Bad Boy to replace him for the ceremony! Surfer Ken is sent for the role, but he arrives too late to play the part. When Jolie decides to take her Hawaiian honeymoon with a friend, Jolie's friends decide to send Ken to Hawaii to intercept her and take her mind off her cheating fiancee.

This is book two in the Bad Boys for Hire series, but it can be read as a standalone. It was a steamy read, and a really funny one. Poor Jolie had more allergies than you can shake a stick at, and that set up some hilarious scenes. Ken was adorable, and both characters had a whole pile of baggage to deal with. The story was still light-hearted despite that, a true vacation read. The setting was amazing, and I had to resist googling flights to Hawaii!

Chris Abell was great as usual, his voice perfectly fit with my image of Ken. He did a great job bringing the story to life. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

    Story
    "Drew Me In"

I enjoyed listening to this story. I found it to be funnier than I expected. When I picked it up, I was expecting a steamy romance. I got that. This story is definitely steamy. I was also expecting it to be a bit more on the serious or depressing side. Being stood up at the altar doesn't make for happy times. Yet that is what Rachelle Ayala gave us. The "honeymoon" was hilarious! The story also held a sweet surprise for me. That twist made it more interesting. The return of the groom made for some tense reading and a what would you do daydream. Yes. Depending on the story and the skill of the narrator, I can daydream myself into the story. I like Chris Abell. He brings the story to life and draws my imagination in. The twist in this story resonated with me and made it easy to put myself in the story. I had a good time. I will probably be listening to this again during the long cold winter days. I recommend the book to romance lovers who like a story with some heat to it.

    Story
    "Very good story!"

This story was of course well written, as of yet I have not encountered any of her work that was not very well done. The characters in this book are interesting to say the least. Most took me a while to warm up to, some of the personality traits are very realistic, therefore they are not all that appealing. Yet the author brings they storyline together in such a way that by the end that you get a better understanding of why things happened the way they did. But best was that they owned their mistakes and tried to better themselves to move forward. This to me was a amazingly well done example of a character driven story. While I voluntarily listened to this book for review purposes, I also put my money where my review is and purchased the book in ebook format! So I can truly recommend this book as one I read on my own and listened also because the narrator did an awesome job!
