Publisher's Summary

One wedding, two best men, one hell of a love story!

Declan Ramsay's brother Oliver was marrying Annabelle Aiken at a fairytale castle on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland. The bride and groom decided that Annabelle's gay younger brother would share the best man duties with Declan. Declan had never met the kid who was to be his joint best man. Sam Aiken was abroad, working as an interpreter and finishing his studies. He wouldn't meet Declan until a few days before the wedding, so the best men communicated and planned their speech by email for more than a year.

But on meeting Sam Aiken, Declan is surprised to realize the kid isn't a kid at all, but a tall, blond, and athletic young man. Declan is sure he's straight, so he's alarmed by the ferocious attraction he feels for Sam. And as the attraction is reciprocated, the events at Dunloch Castle change everything Declan has ever believed about himself.

But, is Samuel Aiken all that he appears to be?

    "A Great Listen"

    I really liked this audiobook as it had a bit of everything: Angst, Lust, serious moments, really funny moments etc.

    Gary Furlong did a great job of narrating and his accents were brilliantly done.

    I can't wait to listen to the other books in this series.

    "A nice start to a (hopefully) thrilling series!"

    An Audible copy of this book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions that follow are my own.

    ~~~
    I really enjoyed this quick little read! Sam and Declan's story is sweet, thrilling, and complex (especially considering how short this book is!), it also sets the scene for something that will undoubtedly become more complex and I'm looking forward to experiencing it.
    The only criticism I have is that the ending seemed a little abrupt and I would have liked to see it eased into a little more. However, all in all, this is great if you like contemporary with a little twist and the audio narration is excellent too, making for a very pleasant listening experience!
    I look forward to book 2!
    "Totally Enthralled and gagging for the next one!"
    As an opener for a series, this book has it all. It made me laugh, it had me angry in parts and it definatly makes me want to listen to the next one. I don't want to give too much of the plot away but it's a great love story with two fantastic MC's, each with their own vulnerabilities.
    Gary Furlong's narration is fab, not sure if he's English doing Scottish or Scottish doing English! Either way, his accents are great and to me, very believable. I always feel it's true testament to a great narrator when you're not sure which is his real accent.
    Without a doubt, I'm straight off to get the next one. I'm hooked.......
    "Not what i expected"
    I was given a free copy for an honest review from the author. Declan and Sam make a great couple. Declan has always been straight until meeting with Sam who is one of the Best man in Oliver and Annabelle's wedding along side with Declan. They have become friends via email for the last 12 months but finally meet in an airport accident. From there the fun begins love blossoms but Sam is keeping a huge secret that finally gets revealed at the end of the book which I didn't see coming. Can't wait to continue on the journey. Isobel is a new author to me who I will definitely be checking out the other books she has written.
    This is a new narrator to me and I loved his different inflections especially his Scottish accent. Will definitely be looking for more
    "GLORIOUS M/M ROMANCE- With a twist"
    What did you like most about As You Wish?
    I loved this book so much. It was funny, romantic, VERY sexy, and what a great ending. Sam and Declan's romance was just so much fun.
    Who was your favorite character and why?
    I fell head over heels for both Sam and Declan. Just wait and listen to the kilt scene...that was just soooo hot!
    What about Gary Furlong’s performance did you like?
    This is the first time i've listened to Gary Furlong and it won't be the last. His voice is very listenable. He had great pacing, his range of accents were brilliant and particularly his Scots accents were perfect. He wasn't shy when narrating the erotic scenes either so i was very impressed.
    Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Yes, this made me laugh and cry. I stayed up into the wee small hours to finish the audiobook and went to sleep with a big smile on my face. I don't want to give much away, but the references to "The Princess Bride" movie and the way they were woven into the story was just genius.
    Any additional comments?
    This was such an entertaining listen and I adore Sam and Declan. The story was beautifully written and narrated. The perfect evening's entertainment. I hope the rest of the series will be in audio soon.
    "Almost hooked"
    Overall, this was a likeable story. The author did a great job at showing a connection between Sam and Declan. There were some lightly funny moments. And "Princess Bride" had a role in their connection. The sex was somewhat explicit but not gratuitous. And the story was complete but aligned for a sequel.
    The bad part was that the author said one of the characters "changed sexual orientation," which shows ignorance. And their getting together was a bit too fast and easy, considering things, things I can't name without spoiling the story a bit.
    "An emotion-filled 5 stars...outstanding narration!"
    I absolutely loved this story. It’s a wonderful look at one man’s journey to find what-and who-he truly wants after so many unsatisfying encounters with women, and another man’s attempt to find love and settle back into a normal life-if his controlling father will let him.
    God, I adored these characters. Sam is so lovable, bubbly and bright and outgoing-though at times hiding some bit of sadness that we don’t get to find out about until the absolute end of the story. And Declan…there’s just something about a person discovering his sexuality and breaking free of expectations that endears Declan (and other characters like him) to me from the start. The two together are intensely passionate and the phrase “explosive chemistry” was probably coined with their eventual pairing in mind.
    Watching as Declan explored his sexual boundaries as he learns just what he needs and wants is emotional for the reader as well as Declan himself as he experiences it. He and Sam weave such a tight bond with each other, and as a reader I was just as devastated as Declan when their time together at the castle for the wedding comes to an end…especially the way it did.
    I’m really glad the way things tied up at the end, I don’t think I could have taken any other ending. I’m am totally hooked for this series and can’t wait to dive in to the next book. 5 stars for As You Wish, and I can guarantee no matter how this series progresses from here that I’ll still be re-reading this one in the future! Recommended for M/M romance fans 18+ for adult language and explicit M/M sexual content.
    Narration: I am thrilled with the narration of As You Wish. Gary Furlong does an incredible job, nailing the different accents perfectly which gave the story an authentic, realistic feel as I listened. The pacing was just right, and even with the heavier accents the enunciation was spot on and easy to understand. When it came to that scene I mentioned earlier when Declan and Sam's time at the castle ends, the narration was injected with just the right amount of emotion that I might have needed a tissue... 5 stars for the narration, and I certainly hope Mr. Furlong continues to narrate the rest of the series!
    " Declan and Sam won their way into my heart"
    Ok I loved this couple. Declan and Sam won their way into my heart. this was a super stoy, and written well.
    what happens when a straight man meets a drop dead hunk he has been Emailing back and forth for a year about their siblings wedding? Well at first things don't go well. Declan is straight, and loves a good romp with women, and Sam is a drop dead sexy gay man. the attraction starts to fly, and before you know it, they need each other in that special way.
    Very good tasteful sex scenes, and a very well written story line.
    this is a great start to a new series. I will add that this is book one. Thankfully this does not end in a cliff hanger, but Isobel, has completely opened up a great story line for the next book! Well done.
    Gary Furlong did one hell of a job in this book! He had a very sexy voice, and read well.
    "An enjoyable and fun story"
    I enjoyed reading this story and the subsequent two books last year. I was a little bemused with the direction this story went at the time, but I think knowing where the story, series, and characters were heading helped me appreciate the audiobook more. In fact, I listened and followed along with the ebook at the same time and was pleased that the story had received a subsequent edit at some point. Some of the vocabulary and other phrases had been modified, removed or improved. Not that there were many times overall, but enough to make an impression.
    Sam and Declan are fun and steamy together, enjoying some light bondage once they start making out. The story is a sweet GFY, almost insta-love, but not quite because they’d already experienced a year long internet communication, so sort of knew each other. I was surprised they didn’t refer to these conversations more often. I liked Declan’s character. He’s bowled over by his attraction to Sam and the possibility of coming out as bi/GFY—he doesn’t even know himself—is all new to him and he copes with this new relationship admirably.
    The route the story takes these characters was totally unexpected. Although there are a few clues along the way, the events and the revelations about Sam and his father in the last few chapters seemed rather obscure. For me, Sam’s character didn’t quite match up to his ‘career’.
    I like Isobel’s writing and her engaging storytelling style. It’s easy to read and her descriptive phrases certainly paint a picture in my mind. I do have one major issue though and that’s with the frequent head-hopping that occurs because it pulls me out of the story. I had to go back and work out whose point of view the scene is being viewed from. It often occurs with Sam and Declan, but also with a few of the other characters. It's especially confusing when it happens within the same paragraph.
    Gary Furlong was a new narrator for me. It often takes me a time to adjust to a new voice, but his performance was commendable. I particularly enjoyed the intimate scenes. He made a clear distinction between Sam’s posh English accent and Declan’s Scottish brogue and he portrayed the other characters well, even the various female ones.
    Good storie . There is a cliffhanger so there is need to read book #2.
    The narration was ok. He the narrator did a great job on each character.
    But when it was the solo narration he sounded a bit stiff.
    over all this was a good storie.
    "A wedding and finding one's self"
    Declan is the manager of Sir James Aiken's luxury rental properties, and is on his way to his brother's wedding to Sir James' daughter, Annabelle. Sam Aiken is just returning from an assignment to attend his sister's wedding. Over the past few months, Declan and Sam have been corresponding via email, in their dual roles as best men. The two meet on the flight to Scotland, but, having never physically met, was unaware of who the other was. Let's just say that the first meeting did not go too well. However, once they arrive at the castle and begin to get acquainted, they feel a spark of something. Sam is openly gay and Declan is 'straight'...or so he thinks. During the time leading up to and after the wedding, the two explore a relationship. There were some amusing moments when the maid of honor tried to seduce Declan, and then again when she could not find him and Sam explained his absence. Declan embraces his relationship with Sam and, just when he believes that this is the start of something good, Sam is sent on yet another assignment by Sir James. What will happen when Sam returns? Will they pick up where they left off or will Declan return to his hetero lifestyle? Is there more to Sir James' company than meets the eye? While there is an HEA, somewhat, this is not the end of the story. I look forward to the next book and finding out how Sir James is handling a relationship between his son and employee.
    I received a free copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
    "GREAT, BUT FOUND WANTING… NEEDS MORE H/H DEPTH"
    Any additional comments?
    What a great story. I think they fell in love through their months of personal emails. Too bad I didn’t get a glimpse into that. I wanted to have their past written conversations interwoven with present interactions and revelations. Declan and Sam had an unusual mingling of lives when they were both asked to serve as best man. Sam was outwardly Gay while Declan was consistently disappointed with relationships with women and admittedly no interest in them. This disinterest had not yet rung any bells until his growing attraction to Sam. He finally concluded, “Why not give Sam a shot?”
    I was surprised that DeClan didn’t struggle much against his longtime belief that he was straight.
    The book ends with a soft cliffhanger after entering into the past and present relationship between Sam and his father. Sam seemed so happy and free in the beginning but I left him with a broken, sad soul. Sam and DeClan ended the book equals in vulnerability but for different reasons.
    Hope to learn more about their year before their face-to-face and how DeClan will be there to support Sam and how Sam will help DeClan find his lifestyle.
    Now… Gary Furlong… A favorite. He’s a mater of voice and proved his accent talents yet again.
    Giving it Both My Thumbs Up.
    "As You Wish and Lovely Narration"
    🏰 As You Wish is about 2 men, both in a wedding party. They do not know one another until they are asked to be in the wedding. They get to know each other via email as they plan wedding activities. Declan is a Scotsman who has been dating women he has met on the Internet. Sam travels to undesirable countries helping the less fortunate.
    When they met each other Declan decides, without much thought, to have an affair with Sam. They (along with the rest of the wedding party) are staying on the premises of an ancient Scottish castle. This provides the backdrop for Declan in Sam's affair.
    The author writes detailed sex scenes… The story of the wedding comes and goes pretty quickly and we return to more sex scenes. Mostly revolving around them spouting double entendres from their favorite movie.
    The plot thickens with less than one hour of listening time remaining. Sam and his conflict with his father. Sam's father is Declan's boss. If I didn't know this was part of the trilogy I would have been upset about the ending, as several (and the most prominent) things are left unfinished. Keep that in mind if you choose to purchase this book.
    It was a bit unnerving to me how Declan did not seem to struggle very much with his instant attraction and follow through to another man – his first gay experience. A minor quibble was the amount of times the author use the word 'bark' in reference to Declan. :-)
    I enjoyed the narration by Gary Furlong. He has a sexy Scottish brogue.
    Warnings: Explicit descriptions of sex, some strong language. This is intended for mature audiences only.
