"Like many sci-fi authors, Bradbury predicted many of today’s less admirable achievements, such as earbuds and huge TVs. So not surprisingly, this 1953 title is timeless. Penn Badgley, pleasant-voiced and convincing, is an outstanding narrator. His tone resonates with personality, and his subtle character shifts are effective, especially as he portrays this novel’s antihero, a fireman whose job is to burn books. Badgley’s pace is quick yet easy to follow. Even longer monologues are clearly phrased. He can offer a warm observation one minute and turn into a cold commentator the next, skillfully making Bradbury’s message accessible. At one point, exhorting the protagonist to actively embrace life, one character says, “Stuff your eyes with wonder.” This audiobook invites you to do the same with your ears."

Gripping from beginning to end. Loved the fact that it was written 75 years ago and is still technologically, socially and politically relevant. Bradbury’s style is engaging and edifying.
Loved every minute of it.

The narrator is excellent, and the story is hopeful. Such an important book, and very important in our current political climates, and with the rise of generative AI and the impact on critical thinking.

An interesting story with some beautiful use of language. The reading was very dull, monotonous and not performative at all. The reader makes all the difference with an audible book. and this wasn't great.

So interesting to see how the story reflects recent societal changes like the incessant oversimplification of ideas and knowledge in the media, whether journalism or entertainment, it all seems to be about reducing the upset people feel from not knowing everything, and this dystopian world really captures the Kantian consequence to that worldview—where the philosophy of hating knowledge leads, to a world where meaning is lost.

I listened to the whole thing in one go as it was that good! Only a touch over 4 hours so not a bad way to spend a Saturday!

I liked the narrator in this but I think I saw a couple comments saying he was a little bland. My view is that the book speaks for itself, and his less dramatic narration is appropriate due to that.

Excellent book though! And a good audiobook version of it too!
