Summary

If you're thinking, 'Jess, who?' then I'm glad that there was something about 'everywoman' and 'truth' that caught your eye. Or you might already know me as that gobby MP who has a tendency to shout about the stuff I care about. Because I'm a woman with a cause, I have been called a feminazi witch and a murderer and threatened with rape. The Internet attracts a classy crowd. So, speaking the truth isn't always easy, but I believe it's worth it. And I want you to believe it, too. The truth can be empowering, the truth can lead to greater equality, and the world would be incredibly boring if we let all of those people who allegedly know everything, say everything. By demanding to be heard, by dealing with our imposter syndrome, by being cheerleaders, doers not sayers, creating our own networks and by daring to believe that we can make a difference, we can. We're women and we're kick-ass. And that's the truth.

Thank you! You are a real inspiration!

I took the audiobook running and it's been a delight. Almost sad I finished it. An update with to reflect the last 2 years of politics as a bonus would be so good. 😁

Funny, warm and engaging.

Funny, warm and engaging. An extra push to keep speaking up and to support intelligent policies on domestic abuse. An insight into women in parliament and the best way to deal with trolls.

She's bloody brilliant!

I found this audiobook highly interesting, insightful and motivating. I felt like I was in the brain of a totally unapologetic, down to earth HUMAN WOMAN who is so real it hurts. I've found myself re-listening to chapters here and there for a confidence boost and a gentle reminder to trust in myself, my opinions and my capabilities. Just what every woman needs. Thanks Jess!

Everywoman

Gives an interesting insight into the woman we see on TV in parliament, and read on Twitter :)
Honest and down to earth anecdotes about her past work, inspirations and challenges.
A modern day feminist perspective.

The kind of MPs we need

This is a story of how a real representative of the people was elected. It’s also a great at explaining the trials and tribulations women go through and how we are still at heart only partially on the way to equality.

Really enjoyable and thought provoking

Really enjoyable. A person I knew little about before reading this, save for seeing her on the news a couple of times.
A really engaging, enlightening, angering, angry and empowering read. I'm so glad there are women like this one out in the world.
I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to spend time in the company of intelligent women.
