Only for people who tediously narrate their day

The 400 actions and activities are presented in the style of "I wake up in the morning, I argue with the kids, I get a ticket for the bus, I am stuck in a traffic jam, I call the waiter, I drop my chopsticks." My favorite is in the "hanging out section: "I clean up my hard drive." I have to say, the fact that the only dining utensil mentioned is a chopstick is even more peculiar than the narrative phrases.

Doesn’t work as audio only

This book makes a good case for using language learning apps instead of audiobooks. It launches straight into full phrases without helping understand pronunciation and rips through them quickly. In the absence of written support materials or a bit more explanation of pronounciation, it feels like an over abundance of sounds without any foundational understanding. Perhaps those with a more advanced knowledge of the language would be fine, but this is labeled beginner level.
