Summary

Discover how a gentle and easy exercise routine will ease those niggly aches and pains and improve your strength and mobility well into your 60s and beyond.

Let’s face it, your body isn’t what it once was–your joints are stiffer, you’re not as flexible, and you’ve lost muscle tone.

Simple activities, like tying your shoelaces or getting up from the couch, are more of a challenge than they used to be.

Sometimes it’s just easier to stay at home, letting life pass you by, rather than go on an outing, risk a fall, and land in the emergency room.

And as your body undergoes these depressing changes, you’re at risk of losing your zest for life and getting frustrated because you can’t do what you once could.

The question is, do you have to spend your golden years this way, or can you do something to turn things around?

The answer is a big yes!

And it’s essential that you do turn things around because you’re likely to live longer thanks to modern medicine and you’ll want to ensure that you stay happier and healthier as you age.

The good news is that you don’t need fancy equipment or enroll in an expensive gym to do this.

All you need are these simple exercises, which can be adapted to your particular needs and circumstances.

Inside, you’ll discover:

  • Why walking is the least expensive exercise and reaps the most rewards for optimum mental and physical health.
  • How you can achieve the big four with chair aerobics: strength, flexibility, balance, and a healthy heart.
  • The seven types of resistance bands, and which ones to use after injury or surgery to get up and about sooner than anyone thought you would.
  • Why bed exercises are essential whether you’re temporarily or permanently bed-bound.
  • How you can be smart with dumbbells to regain muscle mass and body tone.
  • The best exercises to do to relieve arthritis pain and loosen up your joints, and which exercises to avoid.
  • How a short 15 minute walk metabolizes glucose, improves your blood sugar levels, and gets your muscles working efficiently.
  • The backup plan you need when the weather prevents you from exercising outdoors.
  • How to trick your brain into enjoying exercise and recognizing it as a fun thing to do.

And much more.

Aging is a part of life, but it doesn’t have to be depressing and isolating just because you’re not as strong and mobile as you once were. It can be a time of great happiness if you use this guide to get moving and exercise.

Don’t let your fear of hurting yourself hold you back. Even if you have arthritis or a hip or knee replacement, this guide will help you know which exercises are best for your specific needs and ailments.

And best of all, the longer you do these simple exercises, the longer you’ll be independent and living life to the fullest.

Very useful and easy exercises

Thanks, Michelle. I am in my late 50s, and your book fits me perfectly. This book will be a big help for seniors who are bedridden and those who have physical challenges exercising. If you have parents who need movement but are difficult to move around, give it to them. They will love it.
The exercises are not just helpful. They are great, just what I need. I don't care that I have a few pounds on top, but I don't want to lose my mobility under any circumstances. Your exercises will help me live my life to the fullest. As you said - my mind is sharp, but my flexibility needs to improve.

Very Instructive and Practical.

This book could not have come at a better time than this when all that is most needed at this stage of life is to know that it is still possible to remain energetic, sharp-minded, functional, healthy, and happy. This book has shown that this is possible through the systematic presentation of the essential exercises for energy, improved brain function, self-esteem, social confidence, and longevity. The physical, social, psychological, and mental health benefits of each of the different essential exercises are also discussed. The equipment required, and the routines according to the specific body type are not left out but extensively shared. The book is a must-read for every senior who fancies being kind to himself as well as remaining active and relevant.

Helpful, Great Listen!

I believe that people with disabilities can also benefit from this wonderful book for seniors. This book guides great exercises for elderly people to prevent back pain and other problems. I bought this book for my elderly parents. My mother enjoyed listening and was motivated to try some simple exercises. Given that it is a useful guide for them, I am certain that this will make a wonderful present for our elders.

Fit at any age is possible

This is a great read to get you or your loved one moving. This book has everything! It outlines practical tactics and key takeaways for maximizing the benefits of training and is short and simple to read. Anyone under 60 would benefit just as much from this, but it is a MUST for those over 60. I recommend this for a nice read to learn what exercises there are for people who want gentle exercises of any age. An excellent resource to have on hand for anyone wanting to start exercising. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on water aerobics. The author provides a detailed explanation of the benefits of water aerobics for seniors and includes a variety of exercises that can be done in a pool. Recommend purchasing, reading, and following these safe exercises for a healthier you.
I enjoyed this book and hope you do as well.

Fitness guide for elders!

It is a golden time of life when a person started getting older. But it is important to take care of diet, and activities to stay active at that age as well. This book is guiding the great exercises for aged people to prevent themselves back pain and other issues.

I loved the theme and the author explained easy and best exercises. I am sure this is a great gift for our grandparents as it is a helpful guide for them.

The narrator has spoken very well and I love the tone in which each and every word was explained. The best recommendation.

Great audible

Having worked with a number of over 60s in the gym lately, I wanted to gain more information around what exercises would specifically help my clients (I am a personal trainer) and I found this audible to be really useful. The arm chair exercises are really good and my mum has limited mobility so I've even tried this with her which she really enjoyed. Well narrated and informative for your exercise needs. Highly recommended.

It is greatly-written

I chose this book for my mom, who is 62 years old. She is no longer able to go hiking and biking with us like she did in previous years. Her physical condition is not as good as it was a few years ago as she gets older. Aging is not horrible and staying in good shape is not an impossible thing. With some simple, doable exercises, I think my mom can get into better physical condition. This book contains a lot of useful content. It will teach you how to achieve four major goals with chair-based cardio: strength, flexibility, balance, and a healthy heart. And how to skillfully use dumbbells to restore your muscle mass and body tone. These tips were very practical for my mom, but certainly she is still exploring more of this book and discovering more surprises to bring about improvements in her physical condition.

Authoritative!

This is hands down one of the best books for seniors on the market. If you are blessed with age, or if you are somehow not in the best physical condition, then this book is for you. The author explains why exercise is essential for our bodies, especially as we age. Our energy improves along with every aspect of our lives. This book is practical, timely, and well-researched. This will also make a great gift! Good job!
