I just finished Eshrahaddon by Michael J. Sullivan, and honestly, I think it’s his best book yet. The story had me hooked from the beginning, and I loved how it tied together so many things from the earlier books. If you’ve read the series, there are some really satisfying reveals in this one.

It’s also surprisingly funny — I found myself smiling a lot at the dialogue and little character moments. Sullivan’s writing has always been solid, but this book really felt like everything came together: the worldbuilding, the characters, the pacing, the emotional beats. Just really well done. Highly recommended for anyone who’s been following the series — and even more so if you enjoy a fantasy story with depth and humor.

Back with a bang and a very big one at that, Michael J. Sullivan continues to deliver amazing stories one after the other from his beautiful world of Elan.

Esrahaddan is absolutely fantastic and is the third and final book from the Rise and Fall trilogy. Everything Mr. Sullivan writes turns to gold, and if you haven't read Esrahaddan yet, oh my, are you for one tasty treat.

Beautifully written new characters that you will love, plenty of surprises, humour and twists, and turns that will keep you hooked from the start right up to the last page. Damn everything this author writes is an absolute pleasure to read.

In this final book where you see the history and events that lead and bring us to the first series, the Riyria Revelations. It is like a jigsaw puzzle when you see it all come together. It was fun and unexpected with every turn of the page.

Michael J. Sullivan is a master of his trade and continually weaves his magic and creates so many characters is truly out standing. A lot of his characters are so relatable, and I have loved every minute I've spent in this world, laughing and crying along the way.

Is this book we meet the man who ended the empire, or did he. We get to see a young Esrahaddan grow and become the legend and one of most feared wizards of his time.

After being banished from his village of Haddon at seven years of age after a couple of magical accidents without his realisation, he finds him befriending three Uber ran Ghazel, Dank, Niblik, and Mashy, who took him in and deliver him to Hakkabah, who adopted him as her own son.

Now a powerful wizard and a member of the ancient order of the Cenzars of the Empire, an old nemesis is back, Mawyndule up to his old tricks, a two thousand year old vendetta against the Empire will stop at nothing to see it destroyed.

Truly excellent storytelling and for all you fantasy and Riyria fans, this is a must-read. Very highly recommended.....😁⚡️🗡💀

Can’t wait for the next one , the performance was on the point as hell , the end was a little disappointing I expected some cliffhanger but with the other books already read i kinda knew the end, but maybe its just me , cant have enough of the world of elan , this book didn’t had some many hurting deaths kinda missed them haha

Firstly… always incredible narration.

Tim Gerard Reynolds is the absolute daddy of fantasy narration.

Secondly… wow… what a great book to tie up all the series.

Amazing dive into such a prominent and important character, and whilst you could really say the entire 10 books are really about the protagonist, Esra’s role is so clouded in mystery it’s amazing to see that peeled back.

I love the author’s portrayal of religion and the role it can play in corruption of society and power structures, it is perhaps one of the most historically and real world accurately portrayed views of religion in literature.

Back to the point though… Ezra is a great character, and it is fantastic to see so much revealed. It is also a little frustrating that really he deserves a full trilogy on his own.

I have really genuinely enjoyed the way the author sees the greater world and mythology.. to be able to draw the lines from a “modern” post fantasy world in riyia, peel back the corruption of the church’s interpretations on the truth, and display a fantasy mythology in the age books… small elements like women being written out of history, the roles of gods and men and magic.. reading being banned.. and all for political power games.

Anyway… this book smashed it. The 3 trilogies smash it. This author is bloody great.
