  • Summary

  • The cognitive story behind a simple act of aggression. How our brain is essentially stuck in the Stone Age, struggling to deal with the complexity and pressures of modern life. And how an ongoing battle between our twin cognitive systems - our fast and slow thinking brains - lies behind much that goes wrong in our lives.

no issue with play

It is what you take from it. go in with an open mind; and remember he's a mentalist, as am I. If you are open for some outside influence to hold up the mirror to yourself, fine. If you're expecting a quick fix without any commitment, stop. This is not hypnosis, it's a means to understand ourselves. for that, I think it's good! this is a good 'sleep audio' and not one to be thought too hard about, but worthwhile.

My silly brain likes this a lot

Wonderfully engaging, easy to listen to, and for me, left me feeling like I could listen to a hundred more episodes. Highly recommended

The troublesome brain reviewed by Tevin Gongo

I really like Derren, I could not resist the opportunity to learn from the expert of the human behaviour. I was expecting something more in depth but as a 30 minute episode, this is really well done.

Back to Brown

An ingenious podcast showcasing Derren’s logistical thinking
I really enjoyed episode one and am now listening through the series, after listening to ‘Happy’ I was nervous to give anything new from Derren another shot, I loved his previous books on hypnosis and glad he has returned to his slightly less morbid self

Thought provoking and useful

Each episode is interesting and practical, yet short enough not to overwhelm you with information. A great series.

boring, patronising; annoying background music.

best thing about it: it's free. Derren Brown is soo patronising. background music as equally irritating as Derren.

Boring!

Long winded, not very interesting. Poor structure. Wouldn’t recommend, especially if you’re used to listening to scientific podcasts

ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING!! Derren always delivers!

As a mentalist and hypnotist myself, I always enjoy listening to Derren's wealth of wisdom on the brain and how it works. The content shared here is just as captivating as his books HAPPY and A LITTLE HAPPIER (which just came out recently by the way). Just give this a listen! You'll learn so much about how you think and he will change the way you think about the way you think.

Thanks again, Derren!
