Summary

Der 27. September - für Christa Wolf ein besonderes Datum. 1960 folgte die Autorin dem Aufruf der Zeitschrift "Istwestija", diesen Tag in Worte zu fassen. Fasziniert von der "Bedeutung, die ein durchschnittlicher Tag bekommt, wenn man wahrnimmt, wie viele Lebenslinien in ihm zusammenlaufen", hielt sie von da an jedes Jahr am 27. September ihre Erlebnisse, Gefühle und Gedanken fest. So entstand ein Kompendium teils intimer, teils distanziert-reflektierender Aufzeichnungen der Ehefrau, Mutter und Autorin in ihrem Hadern mit dem System vor und nach der Wende. Christa Wolf selbst liest ihre Erinnerungen aus vier Jahrzehnten deutsch-deutscher Vergangenheit.

A fascinating memoire from a period most of us will understand less and less

To hear Wolf in her own voice is interesting and periodically quite moving. Worth returning to.
