Summary

Their love is destined to shatter the boundaries of time....

Archaeology grad student Alexandra Larson’s world is turned upside down when her mother shares her deepest, darkest secret - that she doesn’t know the true identity of Lex’s father. The revelation sparks a change within Lex, and her dreams become far too real. She sees things she shouldn’t be able to see...knows things she couldn’t possibly know. Terrifying things. Deadly things.

To distract her from the surreal changes taking over her life, Lex leaps at the chance to join an Egyptian excavation run by Oxford’s enigmatic Professor Marcus Bahur. But the distraction might be more than she bargained for. While deciphering the secrets of a mysterious stone tablet, Lex falls headlong into a prophecy created by a dying god over four millennia ago. She must rely on her frightening new psychic powers to dig up the truth. And it doesn’t take long for her visions to convince her that both Professor Bahur and his excavation are much more than they seem....

The past clashes with the present in this paranormal saga of ancient prophecies and warring gods. If you like Egyptian mythology, steamy romance, time-bending mysteries, and complex characters, then you’ll love this sprawling time travel adventure.

Ms. Fairleigh is incredible.

I normally hate time travel based books, but she handles it so masterfully that I just love these books. and I LOVE that Lex is no one's pushover!
read these, then try the Kat Dubois Chronicles. Just incredible. thank you, Lindsey

Did not like it

Loved the plot. hated the narrator and the way she tried to do accents. Her italian did not sound italian at all.
Why author do you think all grandmothers "Shuffle" around the house. She made her sound like an ancient great grandmother. And the voice the narrator put on her sounded the same. Overall the narrator sounded like she was 20 years old and maybe because the heroine was supposed to be 24 it is appropriate but I could not relate at all.
The whole book felt like something a teenager would read. very disappointed.

Cool concept, weird approach

The world building is super cool and I really like all of the characters. The first half was just alittle weird because it was a professor/student romantic relationship and that just gives me weird feelings (as a student myself). The only thing that made this okay for me was that they’re (SPOILER) not really human so human rules don’t really qualify for them. What really bothered me was how stupid Lex seems towards the end. Maybe I’m judging her too much, but the author built her up to be this strong and intelligent person and yet, she still fell for some pretty stupid illusions. Also, at a key scene in the end, she could have done something WAY more smart or clever than what she actually did. It’s like she has no creativity nor has she ever watched any sort of sci-fi or time traveling movie/TV show. Because of this, I’m hesitant to read the next book. I know I’m just going to be so hot and bothered about the stupid decisions she’ll end up making…

A super fun adventure!

Echo honestly revived my love of reading, after being in a funk for YEARS. The premise of a twist on Egyptian mythology speared my interest, and while I could get annoyed with the characters in the beginning of the trilogy, they eventually became like beloved family members that I didn’t want to say goodbye to. The entire Echo trilogy is one of those few series that I can’t read just once, and it has become one of my biggest comfort reads that I can devour in days. Love, love, love me some Lex and Marcus, and I'm glad I get to listen along as I read!

Lex's discovery

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. The mix of modern and ancient, archeological and historical. Lex discovering who she is really made the book much more entertaining. Can't wait to dig into book 2.

Interesting twist to Egyptian mythology

This was a fun book to listen to. It's alternate explanation of the original pantheon of Egyptian gods was unique and really help set up the series.
