The apocalypse will be televised!

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.

In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.

The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.

Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.

You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.

You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game - with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.

They call it Dungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.

Perfect balance of comedy and drama. My favorite part is any scene featuring an animal, even without words every creature has a unique and funny personality.

Awesome

This is one of the most fun books I've listened to. Imagine the running man set in a dungeon, with a talking cat and a half naked hero. Sounds weird? Yes it is and that's what makes it sooooo good! Parts of this book had me crying with laughter and the voice actor is brilliant! I honestly can't wait to get stuck into the rest of the series........ God Damnit Donut!

Absolutely amazeballs!

Seen loads of people recommending this series and how fun it was.
I was dubious at first but dman were they right! The protagonists.. the story.. the comedy.. the references to popular TV shows/viral memes... its an amazing series and the narrator goes above and beyond my expectations! Hell, this is my first review ive left because its that worth it 👌

They were right 😅

My daughter mentioned this title and sent me a clip of it playing in her car. It made me curious so as I had a spare token I bought it.

My previous forays into comic fantasy / sci fi has mainly focussed on the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. I thought it was going to be very difficult to get anywhere near these titans but….

Matt Dinniman has produced a story that drags you along at a breakneck pace through a D&D / RPG gamers ultimate paradise.

This is not Adam’s or Pratchett this is Dinniman!! It’s different, quirky and has to be listened too. Jeff Hays is the perfect narrator for these stories, whoever picked him was inspired. He has a slight Bruce Campbell / Ash voice but brings a unique don’t give a damn / let’s keep going sort of gravelly voice.

I’ve already listened to book 2 onto book 3.

Not a title that I would have selected but You got to listen to this!!
