Matt Dinniman is a master at his craft. Truly great listen, and the intricacies woven throughout are fantastic. Jeff Hays' narration is absolute top notch, another one at the top of his craft and the two combined make magic.

This is simply the best Dungeon Crawler Carl tale yet. The story is utterly bat…. crazy - in a good way - and the drama never lets up, so don’t listen if you’ve got high blood pressure. The way the characters and setting are completely believable and fully realised but simultaneously way, way out there (Matt Dinniman’s imagination is something else!) is top quality writing. Funny and heartbreaking too, it has everything you could want from this series.

As ever, Jeff Hays is perfect for these books, his voices are wide ranged, full of emotion and character, fully expressive, and completely makes the listening experience for me. If you’ve enjoyed the previous DCC books then this one will not disappoint. If you haven’t tried the others yet then get on that right now as you’re going to want all the back story for this one.

It’s so good, I’m going to start re-listening right now :)
