Summary

Welcome to the Gun Show!

The top 10 list is populated. The sponsorship program is open. The difficulty is ramping up. The first three floors were nothing compared to what Carl and Donut now face. The Iron Tangle. An impossibly complicated subway system built out of the world's subterranean railway systems, all combined and then tied together into a knot. Up is down. Down is up. Close is far. The cars are filled with monsters, the railway stations are less than safe, and the exit is always just a few stops away.

But there is hope. For the first time, the crawlers are all working together. The loot is better than ever. And the secret to unraveling it all may be hidden in the pages of a seemingly useless book. Welcome, crawlers. Welcome to the fourth floor of the dungeon.

Excellent story, brilliantly performed

I enjoyed the book, and I enjoyed the audio book. It's part three of an ongoing series, so it's absolutely best to start with the first one.

This, the third book in the ongoing story of Carl and Donut, doesn't feel quite as strong as the first two books, but it's up against a high standard. It's still very enjoyable, the jokes are solid, the adventuring is continuing and the characters are still engaging and well-written.

As with the other two audiobooks in the series so far, magnificently performed by Jeff Hays, who brings a lot of life to the story. As an example, whilst I enjoyed the conversation with Prepotente in the book, I adored it in this format.

I don't honestly think that the Critical Drinker brought much to the story or performance that wasn't there before, but as long as everyone is having fun, I'm not complaining, as it didn't make anything worse either. Solid performance as basically his own YouTube persona, and it fit the character well.

Looking forward to the release of part 4!

Going from strength to strength

This is the 3rd in the series and it maintains the pace and humour from the previous two books. I’m always surprised and saddened when o reach the end. Matt Dinniman’s narrative combined with Jeff Hays’s delivery is a perfect match. Yes some of the escapes are a bit Deus Ex Machina, but that’s half the fun. Best bit of advice - listen all the way to the end and I mean after the epilogue.

this is a serious contender for a six star review

When I first started listening to the Carl series I really didn't know what to expect but the reviews were good so I thought I would take a punt and I'm really glad I did. the writing is incredibly imaginative, the setting is utterly unique and the narration is just amazing. if you're wondering if the adventures of Carl are anything like the stuff you usually like then no because you haven't listened to anything like this before but the writing is high quality and the narration is just off the chart so give it a try, it's worth a gamble.

Just get it...

It’s as original and amazing as the previous two. I hope Matt continues this series for as long as his liver can hold out against the Winnie The Poo reviewer comments fueling his alcoholism. XD Don’t change anything. Just keep this train wreck rolling. “Choo Choo MF’ers!”

That final commercial about JTJ was priceless btw. Thanks for laughs!

Another awesome entry to this series, you should know what to expect if you listened to the previous two.
Some nice surprises in this one, and I just can't wait for book 4.

"Glerp glerp!"

Quickly becoming a stable of system apocalypse genre series. definitely the funniest, by far. The story is very well written, and the dialogue is fantastic.

Jeff Hays back at it with his signature butter smooth narration.

Definitely a worthwhile series

I've enjoyed every bit of this series so far. It's funny and has a great story to go with the humor. The narration is spot on too. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

I wish there was another ready to listen to!

Jeff Hays as the narrator is awesome. Nick Podehl was always a favorite of mine but now he's tied with Jeff! This is one of those book series that is full of action and funny. I love princess donut the cat. I wish the series had book 4 ready to listen to but it was just put into Kindle. So hurry up Jeff and get that next one out! LOL

Intricately Crafted and Hilarious

There's rarely any dull moments in Carl and Donut's adventures. Even the lulls between battles are interesting and unexpected. Jeff Hays performance is superb and immersive. Definitely recommend this whole series.
