Dragonia 1

I enjoyed this book.It is a straightforward adventure with the evil horde wiping out villages and a resistance to it.I was impressed with the narration by Reuben Corbett. The language is basically modern and his voices are very good, even with a bit of 'Thurston Howell the third' tossed in.lol I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

loved it and brilliant narrator

YAAAAAAAAY dragons......oh...um...hang on a minute hmmmmm. I loved this book, I wasn't quite sure what the story was going to be but I got sucked in and it carried me all the way through. The narrator is brilliant, and I could tell who was who just by the voice used. It's a rather unusual story in my opinion in who the good guys turn out to be....but that made it all the more enjoyable as it progressed. I can't wait for the next book...

Volume 1

The plot is about 3 friends who along with a group of people escape the massacre of a village thought to contain resistance fighters against the Dragon empire. Lots of action and excitement.

Gimmi Gimmi Gimmi MORE

I love an epic and this has all the hallmarks of an epic worth joining the best.
Daring to resist the oppressive dragon riders, wells some choose to but most are forced to, This great introduction to this superb new world, filled with believable characters not the usual indestructible hero we become used to.
Written very well allowing us to create with the Authors Craig A. Price Jr, help the world within, then through the narration of Reuben Corbett.we are seduced into its believable existence.
A truly great start my only gripe, is I wanted ALL volumes as I am such a binge reader.

I really like the characters,

Very well written, realistic book. Reuben Corbett gives a really good performance on this narration. All of his characters have distinct voices and his female voices are believable. He makes a really good Devarius and I loved his impish Paedyn.

A fun adventure.

The Narrator transports you to this world created by an Author that has written an interesting creative story with a good sense
of humor.

Since this is a Audio Book the performance is the most important factor and with a variety of accents and a good understanding
of the material delivers on all counts.

Like Action, adventure, and dragons? Then lissenup

A fun adventure that is long enough to satisfy, and short enough that you can enjoy all in one go if you are so inclined. I got this book, due to the awesomeness that was Price's Crimson Claymore, and was happy that I continued to listen to more of his stuff. He is one heck of a writer; he knows how to craft a story, create down to earth characters, and keep your attention.

The very first thing I am going to comment on is that I absolutely adore this cover. For me, it looks like a throwback to the days when Larry Elmore painted 90% of TSR's stuff. That cat could paint a dragon. Here the dragon is not cartoonish, and carries the look of a real threat. It oozes menace, and anyone shopping for a new fantasy novel would stop to check the book out. I actually wish he had used this kind of art on the Crimson Claymore. Great story, but mediocre cover at best. This cover shouts READ ME!!!! so, excellent choice.

Next the narration; Corbett is a narrator I have not heard before, but this dude has some serious pipes. His voice is gripping, it grabs you by the lapels and pulls you in close so that you don't miss a thing. His characterizations, accents, and performance are at level 8 or 9. I really need to hear more from him before I can really say that he is one of those guys that he's got real staying power. Looks like he's done about 7 books so far, so this clearly isn't his first rodeo. I look for more big things from him.

Price pieces together a gripping story that starts at just the right spot. We enter as a village is being destroyed for its connection to the resistance. The band that we follow is small, just three people, and each plays an integral role in the story. Devarius, Aquila and Paden (not sure how to spell since this is audible) flee with other survivors, and begin to actually search for real resistance members so that they can fight back. The story is tight, perfectly paced, and holds your attention like a clock that is counting down for you to win a million dollars. I think I have found a new writer to keep an eye on, as his first book was really good, and now this one proves that Price was not a one hit wonder. I know look forward to the audible release of The Obsidian Arrow, book two of the Crimson Claymore series, and Dragonia: Revenge of the Dragons, book two of this series. Do not miss out on a wonderful author and his amazing stories. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

A fast-paced start to a fun-looking series

I really liked this. The author wasted no time getting into the story, and never let up the pace. The characters were likeable, the plot was solid and there was plenty of humour. There was a ton of dialogue, which is usually good news for audio books, and the narrator nailed his part of the deal with a variety of accents, and keeping the story flowing. An excellent listen for an audio book.

Like the revolutionary war but with Dragons.

I really enjoyed this fantasy about a growing resistance to an oppressive empire. The Dragonia Empire rules the people with an iron fist. murdering for no reason just to ferret out any hint of revolution. In doing so they create the very movment they seek to squash.

It gets better when a small group of refugees find the resistance's greatest weapon.

With funny and sympathetic characters, and a narrator capable of bringing each one to life, Dragonia is a series that you won't want to miss.

Excellent Listen!

I honestly was a little skeptical of this book, but wanted to give it a try. Hand down I will listen to it many times over because it was well written! Not only that, but Reuben Corbett did a fantastic job narrating the different characters.

Think of this book a mix of: How to train your Dragon, Game of Thrones (not seen it though), Eragon, and a pinch of Tail of the Dragon (by Craig Halloran).

I can't tell you enough how much I really, rally enjoyed listening to the characters. The book started a little slow, but it really started to pick up the pace. The way Craig A. Price Jr. wrote the characters, how they interacted, and everything around was pure magic in a way to bring the imagination for any youth. There were many, many times I laughed.

To me, there are five types of Audio Books:
1. Just a good listen
2. Enjoyable
3. Intense
4. White knuckle
5. Stay up all night until you realize that you have to get to work in 3 hours, and you say "oh what the heck" and you shower quickly, drive to work listening and park in the parking lot 2 hours before work starts.

From that list, my personal rating would be a mix of 2 and 5.

Hands-down awesome. That is all I have to say.

Well done Craig and Reuben!

A Great New Series!

I was excited to get this start to a new series by the blurb. I wasn't disappointed. Craig A Price Jr did a great job creating this world and taking the listener on an exciting adventure. I thought the story was written at a good pace that picks up. I'm looking forward to the next in this series. The narration was well done. Reuben Corbett read at a nice pace and has a smooth voice. He did great with the voices and emotions of each character. Overall, a really entertaining listen and one I will be recommending to my friends.

Good beginning

Excellent start on what sounds to be an exciting new dragon series. Enjoying the characters and their quest to join the resistance. The introduction of the wyverns was very interesting. I liked the underdog Ness of their story. End abruptly segueing into second book. Felt more like one book divided. Receive this book at no charge in exchange for an unbiased review. I was able to listen to this book with my grandson who is 12 years old he also found it interesting. In my book that’s a plus.

Wonderful!!

I’m always a little apprehensive starting a new series, but have been pleasantly surprised with this one. A story of revolution, on a world with dragons, and wyverns. The story picks up quickly and moves at a nice fluid pace. By the time I got to the end, I was ready for the next book to see where the story goes. Good job! The narration is well done.
