Look, I am a Die hard Whovian, of course I will. Probably wont enjoy it though.What was most disappointing about Victor Pemberton’s story?
So, this is Victorias last story, and she has faced down Daleks, Cybermen, Ice warriors and Yeti...thats a pretty decent group of enemies for just one series, so she tells the Doctor she has had enough of danger and terror. And the thing that scares her most...seaweed and soapsuds. REALLY? I once wrote a question to Dr WHO Monthly, in my defence I was about 11..."Is there an story where no one dies?" they said Celestial Toymaker,or Mind Robber well...they were wrong. Fury from the Deep, not a single fatality just lots of people covered in soap and seaweed,and this is what Scares Victoria so much that she walks away from the TARDIS. Its not hard to believe that Deborah Watling left because all she was required to do was act like a pathetic little victim and scream.In my imagination the producers think, lets be kind to DW on her last adventure,and we will let her save the world, rather than the Doctor or Jamie. That's kind of them, isn't it....and so they produce the Who worlds most patronising plot twist of all time.
unless you still think i am sitting on the fence here...I hated it.
Still listened to the whole thing though, Cut me open and the words Dr Who are written in my bones.
Which character – as performed by David Troughton – was your favourite?
You know my hatred for this story is restricted to the truly risible plot and the disgustingly patronizing treatment of the female characters. David Troughton does not deserve any of my criticism. His narration is the only thing that made this work on any level for me. His ability to voice his father and Jamie is awesome.If this book were a film would you go see it?

If you love Doctor Who you will get this regardless of anything I say. IF HOWEVER YOU ARE NEW TO THE DOCTOR WHO UNIVERSE THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO START.ALLOW YOURSELF TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE DOCTOR THROUGH OTHER BOOKS, BEFORE YOU TORTURE YOURSELF WITH THIS ONE
