Summary

Philadelphia. City of Brotherly Love. Unless you have the Philly mob trying to kill you and the FBI wanting to sit you down for an interview about your connections to organized crime. Not to mention being wanted for your own illegal business ventures.

Did you guess I was in trouble?

Ok, bits I liked, bits I didn't

My take....

This is the third installment of about nine in author, Armand Rosamilia's Dirty Deeds series featuring James Gaffney.

It's another book which I kind of liked, but kind of didn't. Gaffney and his partners in crime from previous books, Marco, Chaz and the near retired FBI agent Keene butt heads with the Philly mob and rogue agents on their payroll. There are a lot of confrontations, near confrontations, escapes, close run things and a fair amount of charging around the city, holing up, meetings, more charging, more hiding etc etc.

Plus points, I do like some of the characters and the dynamics between them. There are some humorous moments and it's a book which doesn't take itself too seriously.

Negatives - the plot's a bit of a nonsense and it doesn't really go anywhere. Gaffney has some links with criminals, but more in regards to spiriting away their children when they have had enough of them, than day-to-day knowledge of their operations and personnel. He's piggy in the middle with testimony wanted by the authorities against the mob and them not wanting him to cooperate. He has his own reasons for not wanting law enforcement to know what he's been doing.

Again we have a closing chapter which obviously gets the ball rolling for the fourth outing. I'm not a fan of this unsubtle tactic from authors. That said I have books four and five in the Audible library, so I'll go that far with the author.

I was entertained while reading it and it wasn't the worst thing I've ever encountered.

3 from 5

I think this was my fifth outing with Armand Rosamilia. I prefer his books which feature the everyday and mundane of ordinary people to the Dirty Deeds series. Belford Stories and JandJ Fitness, as well as Dirty Deeds and Dirty Deeds 2 have been enjoyed before.

A Home Run

Going into Dirty Deeds 3 I was excited. It’s rare I get as excited as I did about a book because I’ve been let down in the past. Dirty Deeds 3 didn’t let me down. It keeps the style and tone of the previous two books and Armand Rosamilia manages to move the story along without it feeling rushed or for it to slow down at all. When the action in the story let’s you take a breath the touch of humour this series has keeps it interesting while also weaving in a lot of depth and growth for our characters.
It’s been a pleasure discovering this series and I can’t wait to check out book 4.

it's a miracle he's still alive

If this is what retirement looks like he's lycky he survives it!! A lot if action and a few cases of luck, but it's non stop for this poor guy. I'm really empathizing with this man. Another suspenseful entertaining journey. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Funny series.

This series is great! It has made me laugh out loud and cringe all within minutes of each other. I love Harry, Chaz, Marisa, and James. Jersey mobsters, FBI, and innocent baseball salesman James. Love it.

Good

Humor awaits with this series by the author. The characters are characters one of a kind, unique, and different. As is the plot, almost nori like in style.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Another Home Run!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is such a fantastic series. The energy and action are non-stop, which are the trademarks of these books. The complexity of the good guys/bad guys really comes into play in this installment and it's murky whether the FBI or Mob is on which side. I'm super excited to see where James and Keene go from here. I have a feeling that the budding bromance could be in for a rocky ride.

Very Entertaining

I received a free copy of Dirty Deeds book 3 By Armand Rosamilia , and narrated by Jack de Golia in exchange for an unbiased review. This review copy Audio Book was provided by the author/narrator/publisher free of charge via Audio Book Boom.

I found Dirty Deeds book 3 just as fun book one and two. I find the books are fast pass keeping me engaged. The story moves fast but not so fast you feel lost. The wacky characters are unique, and very entertaining. I really hope book four comes out on audio soon.

Jack de Golia does a great job narrating.

another fantastic book in the series

Continuing on from the last book we find James in jail. Released by the person who is paying him for his last job that didn't go well. This is a the whirlwind adventure that follows James as he gets into a major fight with 'The Family'. Yet again familiar players are back in the game in this exciting story. Well written and little references to other books like Green River Blend and Flagner Beach series.
