Summary

Dinnerladies is a classic BBC sitcom based around the lives of the staff of the canteen at Manchester factory HWD Components. Written by and starring Victoria Wood a Brenda, these eight classic TV episodes are brilliantly funny, where the jokes fly as thick and as fast as granary torpedoes.

Along with the day-to-day feeding the faces of folk, the canteen staff Bren, Twink, Jean (and all the others!) have to contend with the arrival of a royal onsite, a Japanese-themed party complete with costumes and the controversial delivery of new uniforms. And will Tony finally succumb to Brenda's advances?

With a wonderful cast including Victoria Wood, Celia Imrie and Thelma Barlow also star in this trayful of comedy from the BBC hotplate.

Cracking

But why not give us the 2 full series, why only a few of series one. Pathos mixed with humour, still funny and always will be.

Mixed Bag of 2 Series.

Series 1 was head and shoulders above series 2 and I've seen and own them all. This is instead another condensed mixed up bit of everything and it's good but it could and should have been much better.

Dinner Ladies the series is set in an engineering company canteen. It's about the staff of the canteen and a few of the other employees. Written by Victoria Wood and starring her it is especially in Series 1 howlingly funny. The supporting actors and actresses are also very good. Thelma Barlow as Dolly and Anne Reid as Jean are outstanding.

This should have been just the episodes of Series 1 that featured and it left it at that. It was the best in every way and much the funniest. This doesn't do real justice to those who acted in it.
